Anonymous, 31 Mar 2015Apple is doing it right. I am by no means an apple fanboy, got a G2 FFS. But a super fast dual... moreYou're wrong. Apple is not doing it right. the dual core CPU in the iphone 6 consumes a lot of battery. Thats why Iphone 6 has one of the worst battery life on the market.

      Example:
Here is the Iphone 6 with its dual core cpu.
      http://prntscr.com/6nv66p (poor battery life)

and here is a the Meizu MX4 pro with its Exynos 5430 8-core Processor
      http://prntscr.com/6nv75y (excellent battery life)

The oldest 8-core Exynos 5430 just craps all over Apples 2 core A8. As a battery/performance phone.

NOTE: The the Iphone res is 750pixels while MX4 pro is 1536 x 2560 pixels and still beats the iph 6 by a significant margin.
MOre cores are better for multitasking and low battery consumption.

Apple does this to cut corners and make more profit.
Most things are multi core coded and at least well with quad cores which have a higher performance that way.
The a chips do have good multi core score, but even that's not so far ahead.
Just like most things they do.
1gb of ram that causes crashes
Cheap internal memory that causes crashes
Only just made their first move past 4 inch displays or to HDresolution.
8mp camera 3 years in a row. It works OK because of decent processing and larger pixels. Which is a spec number BTW.

And you can argue iOS is optimized doesn't need specs... Which is bs and denial. But even if it was true... Which it's not.... Android is optimized too. And wp is arguably a lot more optimized than iOS.
And optimized or not those parts are severely inexpensive for apple compared to other higher end smart phones.
But they charge more than almost any other phone out there.

Which is precisely why iOS holds only 11% global sales, but 80% global profit. While android holds 80%global sales, bit only 11% global profit.

After burning customers with the 810, they'd better be getting that 820 sooner this cycle rather then later like 810.
I will gladly skip anything with an 810 as it barely bests current an older hardware.

Apple is doing it right. I am by no means an apple fanboy, got a G2 FFS. But a super fast dual core is perfect for mobile applications. All quad and octa core does is waste precious silicion and energy. A toyota supra with a single large turbo is a lot faster than with the stock twin turbo setup. Chipmakers need to think about w.t.f. they are doing. Do they want to sell out and cater to the masses by creating these monster multi core chips? Or go the way apple is going which is the right way, but gets hate from the uninformed?

Regardless of what the name is, it's not going to be on a 20nm wafer.

Samsung is on 14nm, so Qualcomm will either match it or beat it.

                    Interesting indeed.
Now I already fully expected a comeback and it seems it will be with the S820. Now the question is if they are going to take that long will it have Cortex A72 cores?

snapdragon has already lost the competition with crappy heated s810!!!

20 nm, low frequency, over heated, low benched and overpriced s810....

Sammy had a great slap on you :) bye bye qualcomm!!!
