Samsung got really lucky with pulling up 14nm yields right before the S6 was about to be released.

Well samsung's performance would have been better if full HD screen was used instead of needless Qhd screen which decreases performance and battery

AnTuTu is probably the most useless benchmark out there 'cause it counts all cores.
The truth is the most important metric of the CPU performance is IPC - that's where Apple's A8X is unbeatable.
However according to AnTuTu and other brainless benchmarks 8 core MTK CPU is faster than A8X, which cannot be further from reality since most application use one core at most.

It was launched in September 2014 & at that point was one of the highest scoring in AnTuTu. But I totally agree wuth you iPhone's user experience is beyond any Android phone.
