Sony Xperia Z4 Ultra reportedly in the works Comments

Want. Immediately. Almost bought T2 Ultra yesterday but hate the specs.
Samsung Note is great phone but all Samsungs are hideously ugly. And I cannot walk around with a phone with a giant pimple in the middle of the back (their camera). That makes S6 ugly as sin.

You guys need to realize something about the state of the mobile industry. As of the Snapdragon 800 almost two years ago, we reached the point of diminishing returns on phones. The difference between a Snapdragon 800 (and comparable chips) and the 810 or 820 won't really be noticeable for most consumers.
The fact that Sony hasn't "upgraded enough" is asking for more than the mobile industry is providing right now. The only noticeable upgrades for most consumers would be a different build, which, admittedly, Sony could have done. Consumers won't really notice a faster chip because everything is already smooth. Consumers don't need a higher rez screen because it's already high enough that they wouldn't notice a difference (especially with QHD!).
The only improvements for manufacturers to focus on now are software improvements (which Sony may have done, we don't know), battery life (which they may have done), camera (which they may have done), and design (which we can be pretty sure they didn't do). Aside from useful things like wireless charging, etc, most other "improvements" will be unnecessary gimmicks, like the "Edge" screen. Mind you, the S6 seems like a great phone, but the extra expense for the Edge just seems fairly useless.

Why even bother, Sony? They need to start making compelling midrange devices. Their high-end stuff is pretty much locked out of the market.

I would buy the Z4 Ultra sight unseen.
I owned the Z Ultra and before I broke it after hundreds of drops I thought it was the best phone I have ever owned.
So I purchased the mid to low end T2 Ultra with its bright 6 inch screen.
I would buy the Z Ultra replacement in a heart beat.

Hey Sony - why not bring out a 'new' near identical flagship device, unrecognizable from its predecessors, with slight un-noticeable improvements in specs, leave the large bezels and boxy un-ergonomic Darth Vader like appearance, then abandon it in 6 months & repeat the whole process - ad infinitum until your mobile phone division dies...
Is anyone at Sony mobile living on this planet above ground?!!

Every post I read on Gsmarena on Sony seems to blast the maker and I don't get why. I was getting fed up with laggy android phones and was thinking f making the switch until the Xperia Zs came to the rescue (Z2 for me and Z3 dual for my wife). I research a lot about phones before buying and by experience and research, teh sony xperia zs (z2 and 3) are the absolue best android devices available. Of that I am certain. Please give objective reviews to readers: loyal readers deserve it.

I wrote on that thread how to compare that shot with so called best cameras of samsung note4, s5 and s6 on the same source site
It is compression thing, and yes, when compared z4 is and will be a better camera ;-) .

The camera sample was taken on a large landscape and gsmarena took a lot of zooming at it. Do you expect to see a clear picture of trees or an airplane about 3km away?
