I was running this morning and my Samsung S6 phone accidentally dropped it looks like on its edge first and then face down. The glass broke into multiple little cracks. The software does not work anymore. The screen shows multiple dark violet spots all over, and none of the buttons work. It is completely broke. It was not a forceful drop against the floor; however, it did slip when I was running. I guess that was enough to break it completely. The protection cover did not help at all.

Official drop test? This is ridiculous. And this is from the company that pays people to attend presentations and has its own divisions that writes positive comments on various gadget sites...
Company that pokes on iphone 6, but releases equally bending S6...
Give me a break...
I wonder how many phones they've smashed to have desirable result in the drop test?

For anyone looking for the most unbiased drop test of how tough the S6 edge really is, check this out:

It's a drop test conducted by a renowned Apple fan comparing it with the iPhone 6. Enjoy. :)

ICE, 09 Apr 2015Still doesn't hold up to a .50 cal bullet. Fullmag just released S6 Edge bullet test. Awesome.those who bullet test phones to figure out if it will stand the test are No Brainer. In most cases we accidentally drop our phones in ear level, chest or pocket but we never used them to shield us against raining bullets period.

AnonD-183154, 09 Apr 2015Face it, no matter how well you build a phone 7mm is very thin and metal always have a give so... moreSamsung poked fun at Apple and now find
out it cannot do better? How bout you watch this and tell me if Samsung cannot do better then Apple and it's overpriced and outdated iPhone:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DpsyGweP5so

And it's actually a video from an isheep comparing the S6 edge and the iPhone 6 in a droptest. The S6 edge was so tough that people started to feel sorry for the concrete they're testing it on! Lol

I haven't seen a smartphone survived a drop test, one way or the other the screen will break when dropped.

The HTC One X is shown in a video being used as a hammer to hammer nails through a block of wood, however a friend of mine dropped his One X from around 1.5 feet and the screen shattered.

These drop tests only tell half a tale, not to mention that the glass covering the camera seems to take a few knocks too.

Honestly, just buy a case or be prepared to pay out.

the note 5 should support removable battery. it's a shame that Samsung is going towards unibody design...
my suggestion is that unibody with premium built can go to the note edge 2,while the note 5 has its removable battery and SD card slot.

PKC, 09 Apr 2015Good One. Infact, no phone deserves to be more than $400 price tag. These IOS iBabies only kno... moreApple pays for its own operating system, provide software update for 4 years and let you get support and lessons at Apple stores for free. Those things cost money.

Samsung got the OS free from Google. Do not provide software update unless the carrier pay for it. Got paid for install Microsoft and other trial ware and do not provide any support beside the 1 year warranty.

You are getting a lot more for the same money spend on iPhone.
