Anonymous, 18 Apr 2015There are other components of the smartphone other than the SoC/processor.
Are you forgetti... moreLG's IPS panels are of as good a quality, if not better than Samsungs Oled panels. Due to the different technologies, both have their strong points and weak points, when compared to the other, but Samsungs Oled certainly isn't superior to LG's IPS panels.
While Samsungs Galaxy S5 camera did a good job, it wasn't anything spectacularly better than others. Due to software changes it improved a bit in the Note 4, where with the Galaxy S6 it seems they actually have made a step backwards. Yes, there is less post-processing, making the photo's less sharp, but it makes them too soft if you ask me. It certainly did not outdo the Note 4, which leaves plenty of space for others to outdo Samsung.
As LG's G4 should have a significant improved module (hardware change) over the G3, there is a chance it actually will do a better job than the S6.
i will buy it for sure...love my G3...the style...the look...the screen...very good phone...and from what i see G4 will be the same :D
People ride Samsung hard. My friend got an s6 and I think its ugly and awkward to hold. Touchwiz seems no better then it ever has which is why I've removed most of it from my note2. Screen looks good but not anything to write home about. I'd rather keep my note 2 than pay money for an s6 at this point. There isn't a perfect phone out unfortunately. I think the g3 form factor is spot on. Wish someone made a phone like it @FHD(or a better soc) with a better camera and waterproof. I've been due for an upgrade for a few months, longer than I've ever waited, but no phones seem worth it. I'll be waiting to see the z4 and g4 with how their cameras and soc's perform or possibly the s6 active or 2015 nexus 5.

Are you forgetting display quality and camera? Both display and camera qualities are areas where Samsung completely dominates everyone else.

What about price in my country LGs G series are cheaper than Samsungs galaxy S series so basicaly LG is better in Price/Performance.
People focus too much on the SoC and some random benchmark numbers. Most will never truly pull out the maximum out of a SoC in the smartphone for more than a few seconds, which is by any means not enough to notice a real difference between a dual-core or quad-core setup of the Cortex-A57. Most of the time these phones will run on the slower Cortex-A53 cores, of which SD808 has four, just like any high end SoC out there.
On the graphics part, it will remain a question how strong it truly is, but chances are that, unlike SD810's and Samsungs latest Exynos SoC GPU, it will remain at maximum speed, delivering maximum performance, for prolonged time, where Samsungs S6 and phones with SD810 will slow down significantly, rendering people with phones equiped with SD808 with an overal better experience.
What really matters with an High-End phone is, among things, screen quality and possibly camera-quality. First should be really great, if to belief LG, second as well should be outstanding. Neither needs a quad-core. Other things that are important for High-End phones are build quality and this is where LG more often than not outdoes Samsung by quite a margin.
So, even if G4 comes with an SD808, it's strong points will be enough to make it a proper product for high sales. Let the benchmark-lovers buy an S6 if they feel happy with it, only to figure out later that once the phone is warm it performs less good than promised and that horrible skin taking away the other half of the performance. Samsung is promising better software for years meanwhile, but Touchwizz still is pretty much horrible.
AnonD-381558, 18 Apr 2015why this phone win my heart? 1)android 2)camera 3)removable battery 4)SD slot 5)IR blaste... moreTotally agree
Actually they want to say that LG G4 can not compete with samsung galaxy s6....
I may be moving from Samsung to LG for the first time in three phones. Will depend on actual specs and reviews. I like the removable battery and microSD, I like the buttons on the back, camera quality will be a key factor. LG's ACTUAL processor is unknown. Hopefully it will not be an 808, but the image provided as proof has been largely agreed to as a fake.
How can people already write this phone off, there has been no real official specs released yet. I can find just as many articles that claim the G4 is using the 810 chip as there are claiming it uses the 808. The camera should be great (since this is the only real spec that is out). Everyone complaining about the leather...but you don't have to get the leather. I doubt they would do away with their thin bezel since that is one feature that makes the phone look so good. Removable battery and SD card are a great plus. I don't want to have to send my phone in if the battery craps out. What if in 2 years I pass the phone down,if the battery is removable I can get a new one and pop it in.
worst phone in the world is samsung .it creates only controversies.first tell samsung to clear its own lagging problems than rather blame other brands....
5.5" is big but LG's design makes it feel just right ....
just got a LG G3 for my brother and comparing it to my note 2 the G3 seems so small eventhough both have 5.5" screens

Samsung pay this analyst ;)
this analyst does have merit though. but i believe pricing will be the key. if it is anywhere near the price of the s6, more people would just rather get the s6. also, when the g4 launches, the s6's price will have dipped considerably, at least in the smaller markets.
