As long as Navteq mapping is still available to other navigation companies, I don't really care who owns HERE...

This isn't great news. I can see this screwing over WP users, why aren't MS snapping this up. They need it more than Apple as Bing Maps are not good, and has been ignored since HERE Maps. Here maps is one of the reasons I stuck with Nokia/Lumia Devices.

I hope it wouldn't be restricted on Windows Phone, although HERE uses Bing maps.

I like WP and i think that HERE is one of the best things on it. Why would they just give it away like this?

I wouldn't mind if it was sold to Apple, I think they'd put it to good use. It would certainly be another selling point for Apple devices.

I fear this is going to be the end of Here being a free cross platform app that lets you download the maps. Especially if Apple buys it (though Apple Maps does desparately need help).
