If Nokia wins the lawsuit, I will most probably never touch a Nokia handset again

Get it?
Good.
[deleted post]The reason i asked is because i cant find a quote that says Nokia was found guilty from the whole Nokia Qualcomm saga. I know there was a settlement however there is no explanation as to why there was. It says the payment was so they share patents.
Sorry if i was unclear but i need a link that says nokia found guilty.
You cant blame me for needing proof
I dont know what the rest of you think, i reckon you are all nuts. I tend to leave Apple and Nokia alone and go with my trusty Samsung smartphone.
Anonymous, 25 Oct 2009Maybe you should look up a dictionary, you seem to have difficulty understanding basic concept... morecould you please give me the link to "Nokia was found guilty of stealing Qualcomm's technology and had to pay $1.7 billion, so you can say they stole it."
I'd like to read up on that.
Anonymous, 26 Oct 2009its not about software learn to read, its about hardware standards and protocol, n00bHey check this out:-
"For some Nokia phones you can configure the use of this codec:
To activate EFR codec use enter the following code: *3370#
To deactivate EFR codec use enter the following code: #3370#"
EFR is one of the disputed patents, it looks like a phone will still work without using it so it's not essential.
Does disabling the EFR codec disconnect you from the network?
Somehow I don't think so.
Are there alternatives?
I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, cut 'em off, nokia.
Geez, iPhone fans cry more then a homo which is boyfriend stole his handbag...
Get it real guys, even if you like your lack of good software and incomplete hardware cellphone which therefore the trademark didn't payed the pattents, it's just one amough all the others that have to pay those that are enforced by law.
Nokia did good to sue Apple, as it was theyr only way to show the world as non trustworthy is that company.
If i would be in the place of Nokia, i would just love to see all the iPhone stock already on Market to have his GSM transmitions cutted off. That would make me even more realized and rofling at the situation then getting a couple bucks more in my pocket.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2009other 40 company did pay Nokia license Under what terms did these forty companies pay up?
Apple paid Ericsson and Qualcomm for licences, so maybe they didn't use any of Nokia's technology.
Qualcomm is the company Nokia stole code off, Nokia was found guilty and paid Qualcomm $1.7billion.
Apple employed Qualcomm engineers so maybe they came up with their own solutions using the code Nokia stole.
Apple was writing software when Nokia was still pulping forests for paper, they've done a lot of work on data transmission and audio codecs.
We'll just have to wait and see.
