The bigger the competition, the better (for consumers).

I see lot of comments here still looking back to the past. What if Nokia used Android earlier. What if Nokia keep with Symbian/Meego. What if...

Don't reminisce what had gone by. Look forward.

By entering Android territory, they will have to compete with established Android manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC, as well as fellow chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi, Huawei, Oppo. The road ahead will be though. If Nokia only depends on non-GooglePlay Android phones like current Nokia X, the road will even be tougher.

On positive side, Nokia could bring improvement (and good competition) into Android ecosystem. Looking forward for a decent Nokia Android flagship!

            Side note:
Hopefully this announcement won't make Windows Phone sales drop.

No doubt, Nokia will grab it's no 1 position as soon as it enters mobile division!!! All companies get ready to see your downfall!!!!!!

The blame went to MS as they cannot develop WP quite decent, much less than expected. That's why Nokia jump into the Android bandwagon, which is now mature.

Nokia just killed me... I was so happy when I read they were coming back. But this R&D in China and Android?! I much rather remember Nokia by their nordic logic and effective and efficient OSs like Symbian and Meego... Android when you have sailfish next door... NOKIA YOU KILLED ME.
