rexus, 25 Apr 2015I have this tablet.. I used it for years and i didnt see any problem even i updated to lollipp... moreTypimg this on a 2012 Nexus 7 without issues. The answer is Cyanogen 12 nightly builds. It is equivalent to running 5.1.1 without the lag of the official versión.
My iPad mini from 2012 is still supported by apple,Why Did you do this Google,Why?
This device is very good, the only problem i have with this tablet is the camera, the camera is very very poor.. so if you are a camera lover, i advice you not to purchase it.. facts!
I still love mine after 1.5 years! Great little tablet that still gets the job done fine.
Does that mean that there won't be anymore Android updates for it after 5.1?
Nexus 7 (2013) is a legend of a tablet and the lightning fast updates make it even better. I think this is the best Android device along with the Nexus 5. I know both of them have been replaced by newer devices and that there are dozens of faster and better devices out there. But all of those cost twice of what the N5 and N7 did. It's this affordability that makes them the winners in my opinion.

Run majority apps in the market even nba 2k15 :)
I wish that android made more devices like this.
Asus+google+qualcomm+adreno = amazing
i also have nexus 7 2012 but after months to years i becomes shitty lag as hell.. Shame to tegra..
hahaha..I just bought this tablet in used for my Mom for $120. Previously I had Nexus 7 (2012) 1 gb ram. Believe me 2gb ram makes one hell of a difference! The camera is reasonable (compared to my Lg g2). however the device is lightning fast. I use social networking on it, my mom calls my brother abroad, my sister play games, watch movies on it, and yeah..my dad is jealous too :P LOL
Too bad... After saving money for 2 yrs just to buy this and now it is already discontinued... Technology, they evolved so fast that my budget can not catch up..
That's a shame, I've come to really like my one. 5.1 seems to be a huge improvement, any they've finally got it right. Wish they would do another N7. Maybe they are..?
yeah they have to remove it now. bc now 7" is the new smartphone size. hurray for huge phones that kills battery faster than rabbits screw :P awsome tablet tho :) got this one and love it :)
AnonD-244086, 24 Apr 2015just lg g pad 8.3 remainsI own both the LG G PAD 8.3 and the Nexus 7 2013, the Nexus 7 runs circles around the LG, also LG is taking it's sweet time to update the G PAD 8.3 to Lollipop, will never buy another LG product.
I bought 2 brand new Nexus 7's 2013 from Groupon for $300, one for me and one for my mom, great tablet, I use it all the time, my mother loves it, she says that is so freaking fast, my dad is jealous, LOL.
Pity, was waiting for the next one.
My older 2012 N7 still works but the update to 5.0.1/2 and now 5.1 killed it.
