Anonymous, 25 Apr 2015NOt as good as new MediaTEk but still powerful.MediaTek doesn't make CPUs. They make SoCs using those ARM CPUs.
Core-M is not at all powerful when compared in per W basis. Even in raw performance it will soon be surpassed in both single and multi core situations by most major players.
I don't get the adulation of Intel. They're a monopolistic bully who's only stake on the market is their monopolistic practices. The last 5 years are telling, while ARM is evolving by leaps and bounds Intel is stuck to the same core-i arch with only minor adjustments each year.
They say they've hit a wall but everybody else isn't (GPU, Socs, memory, etc, etc) so they're most probably lying. They grew complacent and everybody else's coming with vengeance. Good riddance I say.
NOt as good as new MediaTEk but still powerful.
Can't wait for these beasts
"the Cortex-A72 will use 75% less power than an Inter Broadwell CPU [which] is overall significantly more powerful."
So - use Cortex for smartphones/tablets and Broadwell for laptops.
Its also worth noting that they claim its 75% more efficient when set to the same performance. (Core M Y510)
