How on earth people by Samsung phones over these gorgeous Sony phones I will never ever understand, my Sony Z Ultra stands 10 times above the rubbish Samsung churns out year in year out but they still sell their devices in the tens of millions, people are just mad.

You know what annoys me? If Sony really stops making smartphones, I'm pretty sure no other brand will bother making compact flagship phones like Sony did. They're all so concentrated on the 5.5" screens, it's sad really.

darkraver, 25 Apr 2015Sony was in smartphone buissness since the very begining and is here to stay, and into the lon... moreSony’s mobile phones have always been sub standard. Sony failed about 10 years ago and then joined Erisson and then failed again.

Sony’s phones are still plagued with faults such as screen cracking, low volume, not water proofed, bad battery life etc etc etc.

Get out of your Sony fantasy world and wake up to the real world. Sony mobile is about to shut down again or get sold off again due to low quality and bad sales.

But hey, you have a right to dream off your delusions
At least you got that :-)

Dunno why and how is this a surprise at all.
Sony just need to do some better management and some damage control and it easily end up on huge profit, as evident.

Given the widespread acclaim the company has received for its mobile products, in particular its Xperia smartphone and tablets, it would be a great shame if the company sold off this division. An indication of the widespread appreciation of the company's technology prowess is that other players in the market use its camera sensors such as Samsung and One plus One.
