Orange stores will open at 7am on that day. The iPhone 8GB, 16GB and 32GB models will be available on multiple monthly plans, with the 3GS free on all £45 plans and the 3G model free from £30 plans, both with a 24-month contract.

As i said apple force the price as in the uk o2 have not purchased the handset at full price they pay apple a share of revenue. thanks

... moreCanada has the most stupid plans on earth, the reasons the iPhones are all on similar plans with the carriers is competition between them has set the pricing.
So why are iPhones (and other smartphone's) on three year plans in Canada and 18 months, twenty four months or no contract in other markets?
If Apple is setting the pricing why doesn't Canada have plans like UK, Australia, US or any of the other 80 countries the iPhone is sold in?

bluboy, 27 Oct 2009i dont need this apple, orange, mango with such difficulty..n97 is the best..the next to follo... morecomon lets face it all manufactorers are there to make money . the n97 is not so great yeh good multimedia and camera phone but the n series are realy faulty. all phones have good and bad points. but i dont understand why people are anti iphone ??? makes no sense. its not like football its a phone. its almost like guys comparing man hood. perfetic :P

Deep space bar, 28 Oct 2009Thanks for staighting everything people didn't believe me about apple setting the price plans ... moreThe problem is mate people say things on here without knowing the facts. many of the other telecoms companies do not train there staff properly and just expect them to sell and make up information about phones. we stick to the facts and know whats going on thats why cpw is the biggest and most succesful mobile retialer around. But yeh orange will be buying the handsets in full but keep the same tarrifs as o2 because that way they will have a bigger return on sales. they are smart. good luck to orange

I know this cause i'm from canada and two CDMA companies are going HSPA+ and getting the iphone next month and they are gonna have the same price plans as the gsm company
They just have to have tje better ads to catch peoples attention

Apple say how much to charge for the phone on the respective plans with o2. but orange will be buying the handsets from apple. the reason apple dictate the price to o2 is that o2 dont purchase the ahndsets from apple for the full price they are subsidised and they give a % of the sales to apple.

Apple have 34 million in cash reserves...um thats definately not right cos I live in a manky little town in Wales and our council just spent 20 million on a new shopping development...Id imagine that the company responsible for the ipod, iphone, itunes, imac, app store etc may have made a little bit more than that lol

Orange's will be the same add on price.

dead space bar, you are definitely wrong. As someone who works for a cell phone company, I can tell you our plans for the iPhone are identical to our other phones. I also would not at all be surprised if Apple had $34 Billion, that sounds about right honestly. Apple makes about 10 Billion a year in profit.
