Stupid move, HTC. Another white flag. Lollipop has ART which is significantly better than Dalvik.

Lol, slippery as usual HTC, but in all fairness they have a very good point, confirming that there isn't any optimal user experience on Ad-droid.

I'm not surprised it wouldn't provide an "optimal" user experience. Maybe it has something to do with this joke of a device being launched with a measly 1gb of ram in 2014.

Big price & crappy specs and battery. Now no update. Such a joke of a device.

They may be waiting for android 5.1.1 due to memory leak fix, although that's me being optimistic.

To be honest Lollipop on my Z3 Compact didn't bring anything exiting. It's even worsened user experience with some stupid ideas implemented in Lollipop ( such as double pool to get access to quick settings, lack of direct access to some settings i.e. mobile data to switch between GSM and WCDMA modes etc.) So, not a big loose without Lollipop. And honestly pure Android interface looks good only on devices like Nexus and Motorola. For others it's not in harmony with device design language.

Its all marketing, its good business. Weather you like it or not if HTC update the one mini 2 then people may not bother with the upcoming one mini 3. In the interest if sales and htc would be screwing themselves updating the perfectly capable one mini 2 to lollipop. Of course lollipop will run on it perfectly fine. Look at the moto g with the same chipset, ram and processor and lollipop runs fine. Good business means selling you their latest products...updating old phones means no new business for HTC since the lollipop update would be free. Unfortunately that's just the way it is in this game.....

I'm really tired of these half-assed Mini phones. Sony is the only one doing it right with their Z Compact series.

Such a terrible support for a year old device. Shame on you HTC. Despite I don't like Apple policy in general they know how to treat their devices well on this matter.

This is exactly why I hate andriod. Same happened to my Xperia SP. Though eligible for both kitkat and lollipop it didn't get any. Am stuck at jelly. Just waiting for windows 10. Goodbye andriod

Samsung also do not update some of their phones...but at least they do not promise and then break the promise as HTC did now...!

I just noticed that this phone has similar specs as my Xiaomi Redmi 1S does. The price difference? I grabbed mine for around 80 Euros; this one's available for around 440 Euros it seems. Bwhahaha!
