Pissed off, 28 Nov 2016Not only does wifi not work. It started overheating, thought it was as the battery so I bought... moresamsung s5 update has killed my phone.will not come back on completely dead.sent off for repair to samsung repair centre who have told me it is unrepairable.just finished paying for it after 2 years at thirty four pounds a month.WELL PISSED OFF.anyone else had this prob with update ?.

Not only does wifi not work. It started overheating, thought it was as the battery so I bought another one. Ya didn't help. Takes forever to charge and then loses its charge in literally 1 hr. It drops calls, doesn't send texts, constantly resets. I now have a peice of crap,target practice ,paper weight. It's good for nothing. Never had an iPhone but probably going to cross over to the dark side. I have had cell phones since 1989. But never an iPhone. Time for the change.

AnonD-94873, 18 Nov 2016isn't that the reason why you keep backups? If these pics are so important, then why don't you... moreIt has nothing to do with your own pics, files, contacts etc.
The issue is to do with the update of the Android OS.
If I had the option again, I would have turned off updates out of the box.

Since the last update, my WiFi keeps dropping out, new contacts just disappear unless I save them to sd card, some important apps (property alarm & cctv) no longer work and the phone is just slow across the board now. I gave up my iPhone for this, and yes, at first it was good but these updates issues have destroyed my faith so I will be returning to iPhone!

I have been an iphone user for a long time. This s5 is my first android phone and i learned from previous iPhones u should never update without doing your research especially on older models. They will never get better.
The old saying still works today "if it aint broke, dont fix it"
Im running 6.0.1 and its working just fine. Sorry to hear everyone's problems.

isn't that the reason why you keep backups? If these pics are so important, then why don't you use dropbox, google drive or Mega to keep backups of all shots.. no need to blame anyone else than yourself for not securing the important files in your phone...

My daughter woke up this morning and everything was gone on her phone. I was told that a factory reset can happen after an update. All her Disney pictures from a lifetime trip. I wished Samsung was there when my daughter cried her eyes out about losing memories like that. I am furious!

Updated my phone last night, now it doesn't work at all. Black screen with pulsating Samsung logo, that's it. what do i do? Took battery, sim cards, and memory, waited awhile put back together still nothing.
