My S5 has done a push update...without me asking. Since then phone will not start but goes into an Android Update screen for 8 mins. Also screen running really hot and had the screen blacking out so I could not use it. Really disappointed.....loved the phone till now. Also did this while I was out walking on holidays and needed Google maps to get home. Ended up taking me 4 hours and lots of wrong turns. Not happy.

Very long pause that caller believes nobody is there. They tell me to do a factory reset but I don't want to lose everything.
Anyone experiencing there Wi-fi button flickering on and off continuously causing the battery to drain in about 1 hour after the update? Any tips on how to possibly fix it?
Bought this sumsung S5 there is 3 issues I found. Shutting down itself exit itself to home and its always show that check back cover for protection that's not nacessary. And replace it to another one but still issues.it's say the phone has stopped but I pushed ok and nothing happens I have calls that I want to answers it but I go nowhere, next issue is I pulled to go down to read last messages and just stucked there and shevering. 😑

Black screen after overnight charge or no usage of more than 4 hours! I have to remove battery several times before I can see the screen.
What was the fix???? I read through all of this and didn't see it?? Did I mids something???
My galaxy S5 updated and now I can't turn my volume up or down or change the brightness when the phone is locked like before. And I can't figure it out for the life of me, someone know how?

After a push update...that I couldn't stop...my phone went black. I tried everything through ATT and Samsung and nothing worked. I finally had to do a factory reset. I lost everything. Mine was 1 week out of warranty.
After updating, I could only listen/talk on speaker. I took my phone into T-Mobile, they said it was unlikely an update could have caused this, did a factory reset to no avail and and told me the phone was broken. Tried very hard to sell me a new one (I have 1 payment left!) Thank goodness I found this site! I followed the directions and my phone works again. Thank you for posting the fix!

However, there were similar issues after the last update, my battery ran hot all the time, phone cut off when I started my Bluetooth. Samsung fixed the problems eventually so don't get rid of your phone. I know that it is a pain when we depend upon our phones. Hang in there. My phone is 2 years old and I love it.

I've experienced significant problems both sending and receiving text messages. My phone also spontaneously reboots. I was told I might need a "software reflash."
My S5 started the flickering thing after the update, I thought it was from some damage to the phone,the battery would get hot. Received a new one from insurance after deductible. That one had the same issues flickering screen like it was possessed or something. Contacted insurance they sent a new one. My phones been asking me for days to update and I refuse to do so. This maybe my last Samsung ever.
I updated my Samsung 5 last Thursday. After the restart, it wouldn't load the software. Tried to do the repair option but would not load software enough to connect to my pc. Verizon techs worked on it for about 2 hours more--just off warrenty. Ended up getting a new phone--really s---!!!

I go to install it and when it gets to about %35 it just says error. My phone now randomly resets and apps will crash or flat out not work. Factory reset does nothing. I'm PISSED

It could not communicate through mobile or wifi. It would shut down and start up on its own every few minutes. It started to overheat so I had to remove the batteries. I immediately took it to Verizon who trouble shooted. They asked me to call Samsung, who then asked me to take it to where I purchased it. They trouble shooted and tried a total system reinstall to no effect. In calling Samung they said it must be a problem with the physical phone not with the software download. I had just finished paying off the two year purchase two months ago and the warranty finished then too. Samsung said it was now not under warranty and they had no responsibility for this. This was a perfectly working phone until the system download. How many other people received a software bomb from Samsung???? Is this purposeful? This forced me to purchase a new phone - - - not a Samsung.
I bought my Galaxy s5 in July 2016. In Nov. It starting freezing. Followed instructions several times. Removed the battery etc. Continued to freeze. Finally went totally blank. Contacted Samsung who referred me to Straight Talk, my carrier. After much hassle they will replace my phone when they receive my broken phone and evaluate it. They are going to send me a refurbished phone of their choice. I did not buy a refurbished phone. I have in the mean time bought a Sky Samsung to use as my circumstances require a phone. I am denied participation in choosing a replacement phone. IT IS THEIR "PROCEDURE". Request to a credit voucher denied. It is their policy. My policy is to not deal with poor customer service. I will return their phones and not use their products.
