This is why I hold back from buying S6. After Samsung getting a good reviews on S6 using Sony sensor, then they make a switch. I have never seen a review site that claims they have an ISOCELL sensor. All of them mentioned IMX240. Everyone should be cautious buying this phone. I will not risk a 50/50 chance of getting what I want. I'll wait for LG G4 review and I will make a decision
Lets put it this way.The less samsung spends on an outside item the more it can use to develop their own which could someday surpass the item.Same happened i guess with snapdragon.
TechExpert, 04 May 2015The iPhone 6 uses sensors from LG Innotek and Sony. No. Apple's rear camera is SONY. It is a custom size sensor not like SONY's IMX240 which is off-the-shelf size.
Samsung's ISOCELL sensor in Galaxy S5 was terrible. It was why Note 4 and S6 switched to SONY. Looks like Samsung is pulling a bait-and-switch. Having earlier version using the expensive and excellent SONY sensor and switch to cheap house-brand sensor after all the good reviews.
samsung wants to increase maximum profit by using inhouse built items. Like itgs own chips...first it introduced thatchip in asian markets where people are influenced by west.
So they still bought samsung phones even thought samsung`s own
chips were inferior to Snapdragon that time.(NoW ITS AS GOOD AS SNAPDRAGON IF NOT BETTER)
The same is happening to Camera sensor......
histry repeat itself.....BUT
this time its against SONY Item......its not gonna be east for samsung .......not at all

Some reviewer I know said the samsung sensor capture better in low light. Sony sensor can capture more detail and color, great picture quality.
ISOCELL is awesome in day light photos but worst in low light , Exmor got its balance between day and low light photography.
Why would Samsung provide review units with Sony Sensor if ISOCELL is so good. Just wondering. Don't flame. Thank you.
So far all review sites I visited claims they have Sony sensors. Samsung provided reviewer units with Sony sensors so they can have a good photo review.
My s6 shows ISOCELL but it is definitely much better than my previous Note 4's Sony in terms of photo and video quality. My s6 camera really has blown my mind. Check out my video that I have filmed with this phone today. No editing done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSGSzGWmzF8
How to know or what is the code to know the camera specs details?????
TechExpert, 04 May 2015The iPhone 6 uses sensors from LG Innotek and Sony. so judging by the comment apple is a crook
I prefer the optically stabilized Sony IMX, even if they add optical stabilizer to Isocell. How I wish to know which one has the IMX. Now I'm cautious. S6/S6 edge deserves to rock the IMX.

Samsung are crooks
More companies are doing this, like Xiaomi. In the Xiaomi Mi4i phone, they use 13MP rear camera's from Sony and Samsung (as stated on their site).
