Now that their takeover and destruction is complete, there's no need to establish a beachhead in the home of Nokia.

Yeah MS buys a competing product and kills it to promote their own. If you're a software developer, you know what I'm talking. Their history would prove that...

What are on about, Apple sells in Japan, then Sony, Samsung and LG doesn't sell much in Japan, Samsung had to rebrand it self to galaxy to generate Better sales in Japan, further more, phablets don't sell either

It's all about making money. Why keep the store open if it is not even able to make money to pay the employees and the cost of operation? I know there can be a sentimental value or symbolic thing, but then if it doesn't make money why keep it open?

The NOKIA name is being destroyed :( I am a big fan of my N8 and microsoft shut the Symbian app store. I had to reset it for want of space and all apps are gone. Is it to make one buy a new phone? I'm utterly disssatisfied with this treatment and will never go for a microsoft phone which otherwise I would have preferred it.

I hope Nokia leases this same space for an upcoming handset / tablet storefront. Since it's a flagship store, the people know where to go. It would be symbolic to step back into it as Nokia and not MS.

Might as well give the mobile division back to Nokia, instead of this nonsense. Microsoft have no idea on how to make phones.
