ok
It appears gsmarena removes return lines and makes posts hard to read :(
Htc should also look at the strategy of releasing multiple variants of flagship with better spec but Region specific. It's best way to confuse the market!
I really fancied a htc m9 at start of year as my replacement phone, but then reviews came in and:
* camera worse quality pics than my iPhone 4s
* performance (throttling on high loads)
* price, about same as an s6 or g4
The sd card slot is a plus, but everything else just shot it in the foot. Wouldn't be so bad but it's the *third* time they've tried to make a good camera and failed.
The lg G4 looks like a decent phone but I fancied the s6 looks and screen, the cameras seem approximately on par.
I did think of an iPhone 6, but after years of apples walled garden I want to try android (usb on the go, or just been able to free space on phone by deleting music files without having to use iTunes!)
I think htc need their own project zero to focus on camera and battery life.. Although I fear they may not have the cash reserves to finance this now.
So it's safe to say that Qualcomm's high-end offerings for this generation is screwing over a lot of phone manufacturers. The only ones safe are those with customized SoC designs. I wonder when the 'fixed' version of the 810 will be available?
I don't think the problem with the camera is the toshiba sensor because the lumia 930 has the same sensor, I think it's the optics that HTC have used
Don't know if others have made the same comment, but releasing the 9+ with a quad HD screen soon after the normal 1080 HD screen version, is probably going to annoy every current onem9 owner. Plus, after the rumours came to light, many are probably not buying the onem9 in favour of waiting for the 9+ in the first place. It'll be very interesting to see how many 9+ phones are sold in comparison with the 9.
since from the s6 launch, all fake news regarding htc company is being circulated on this site,
heating issue of m9 is not described by other review websites that much as it is here on gsmarena, even the regular users of m9 are not reporting it. So called Bend test was only published on this website which does not make any sense. The site didnt mention record q1 profit but come forward to publish loss news. Seems like samsung has heavily paid the webmaster to publish against htc.
That's good for them wanna play customers with the m9+
i owned m9 since last week.
its work perfect for about 3 to 5 minutes from cold start but after a a little rise in CPU temperature that feels in back of device its become like a mid-range phone ,(maybe 516) noticeable lag also happen in sense UI.
snapdragon 810 have only perfect for max 7 minutes from cold start after that its like a normal CPU.
Anonymous, 05 May 2015I mean the M8 sold exceptionally well based on htc's standard. Once the M9 was revealed and re... morewell said
Really not understanding why No M9+ will be released in the U.S. why would I by a M9 when there is a better phone on the market from the same company.
they should of chosen something else, not Crapdragon 810.
Zed, 05 May 2015i had the m8 and now the iPhone 6 plus, I'm happy with HTC recycling the design and improving ... moreI actually thought the speaker on my M8 was a faulty unit as the call sound quality was really MUCH worse than on my ex-GS4... Calls via the front speakers is okay/even good quality-wise, sure.
Not really the SoC, more like:
- A dated, ugly design: To the people who like "tested designs" and "minor improvements", apparently, your opinion doesn't count. Not over a 3-4 year span of recycling the same design. Nice try.
- A poor camera: I don't have to go into the details.
- Customer support: Possibly the world's worst customer support (even worse than Dell, and that's saying something!)
- Nothing really innovative, fierce competition from lots of Chinese makers are much lower prices.
Are the results really that surprising then? Reality check for HTC, that's all.
Zed, 05 May 2015i had the m8 and now the iPhone 6 plus, I'm happy with HTC recycling the design and improving ... moreSame here..I was waiting to sell my iphone 6 to get M9 but they fail big time this year...huge disappointment
LG started the year off by launching a lackluster, overheating, throttling, G Flex2. Bad reviews shared a common sentiment, largely pointing to the use of the SD810 SoC.
HTC turns around and does the exact same thing with its M9, but opts for a horrific Toshiba sensor as well. What were they thinking?
You reap what you sow. HTC should have known better.

Without some reputation nobody will buy overpriced phone. There customer service is terrible.
htc one m9 less demand because this phone have not physical button like iphone & samsung. the phone have not include finger print & payment system(master card, visa, amex).
What a pity...
Who will best buy HTC?
i had the m8 and now the iPhone 6 plus, I'm happy with HTC recycling the design and improving it! The m8 is the best phone I've ever had, in terms of build quality battery call quality, touchscreen, design and software, only reason why I sold it was because of the camera, I was going the sell my iPhone 6 plus for the HTC one m9 because they make perfect handsets bar from the camera... What do u expect HTC
