I almost went for the M9 but end up getting the S6 solely for its camera. It's unfortunate for HTC. Considering the fact that other areas were great (smooth and consistent Sense UI,best audio etc) only camera

I moved away from HTC just because of Camera.
Its 3 yrs in a row and they still lags in same department.

Once the M9 was revealed and released, I feel a few people who were waiting for the M9 jumped on the cheaper M8 instead, which lowered the revenue loss from 50% to 40%.

M8 could have done still worse if S5 would have been received well by the consumers. HTC realized that M8 was not doing well in terms of camera, that's why they released M8 Eye. Still it never did well. After M7, HTC hasn't been even average at all.

Maybe they should of actually made a new phone instead of sticking to an old design with slight upgrades which are almost next to none.

How can you expect good results when one of the most important things in a smartphone - the camera - is a crap in M9? Just look at the reviews. And how it looks when compared with the competition like the S6?

I don't know what HTC were thinking when designing the M9. Wheres Optical Image Stabilization? Why is the aperture so high? Why so much megapixels - wouldn't it be better to stick with 8-12 megapixel camera, but with larger pixels?

And as for the failure of the year- nametly the Snapdragon 810 - this is a complete disaster. What's the use of 8 core setup when most of the time the A57 cluster is turned of to prevent overheating? A joke.

If there's anyone to blame here it's the HTC only. I do pity them because I like the Sense UI very much and the design of the phone.
