AnonD-60230, 08 May 2015its possible to downgrade.. either you can flash the firmware yourself or visit service center... moreWithout unlocked bootloader and root, you cannot downgrade the device in an OFFICIAL way. I know service center does it, heck i worked technical support, i know all about that.
What i meant is with the help of their pc software or with hard reset it is not possible to downgrade! So don't call me ignorant! I know what i say when i say it! #slap! (I don't tweet)

People, open your eyes and read. Its saying that Xperia Z series will get 5.1 in august, not that they are skipping 5.0.2 for xperia Z. The only phones remaining for lollipop is Xperia Z/ZL/ZR, these phones will get 5.0.2 first, and then 5.1 in August (If this source is to be believed.) BTW, Xperia Z1 Compact was not a part of their 2013 lineup- it was released in 2014.

I admit I am a bit disappointed. But I'd rather wait, than upgrading to a faulty software from which I cannot downgrade..
My friend also has an XZ and i told him: Dude, just wait a few days after they roll LP, don't install it as soon as it's out, cos you might regret it. There may be bugs and you don't want that cos you can't go back if you do.
Instead of rolling out BAD software like other companies do, Sony actually cares what it does!

GoToSchool, 08 May 2015I still like my Z1 but I want to upgrade to Z5 which I hope they release this year.Seems odd that Sony can so easily find a "show stopper issue" yet no other phone manufacturer found any such issue whatsoever. Smells like Sony stalling to me.

bought my Z1 Compact last April, a week b4 the May released of Lollipop os for series Z Model. everything is going good then i got i notice that a new software upgrade was available for my unit when i sync my phone content via sony pc companion, so i updated it to Lollipop. thats when the problem starts. the camera wont function, when turn on, all you can see was black, nothing at all. when i brought it to the store where i bought, they take out the memory card & sim card and made a phone reset. so the phone camera works again, and i was told that the memory card might be corrupted and was ask to change it. ok for a day i used the phone without a memory card , taking pictures to test it , then again on the second day when i used, it again turns all black and when the camera button was pressed the led light turns on . brought it again to the shop, this time they say it must be the software upgrade that might be causing it, they perform a phone reset but now it didn't work, i was ask to fill up a form, to have my phone check by the authorized sony repair / technical shop, leave it with them. Now its been a week, they sent me an SMS once, informing me that my phone was still at repair shop and under observation and hopefully it will be released with this week.
