I did the software update for Samsung S6 ... hours later phone screen goes black! Can hear messages and calls coming through, lights are still flashing and I can answer phone as I know where to swipe. Tried everything to reset but phone screen is just staying black. Have now been told I have lost EVERYTHING and nothing can be restored. Absolutely ridiculous that Samsung can send out a software update which has ruined so many phones by the looks of it!!

It's a GEAR VR problem. Probably lint or dust in the microusb port, which shorts the phone and it thinks it has GEAR VR connected.
Clean the port and disable all VR apps.
After recent security update for Australian Optus model, I find that i am not able to use DELETE or READ option from EMAIL NOTIFICATION. Previously If i got any email notification, You drag down the notification to expand it and you will get to options READ AND DELETE. This Doesn't work anymore.
Anyone else having Similar issue ?
I'm from India and I use a carrier free phone. I got the recent October security patch on my S6.
I find that my phone is working perfectly well and now it's even holding more apps in the memory than before. Battery life is the same as it was before. No visual changes I've noticed.
After the last update I'm not able to take any screen shots and this is irritating me
It has come to my attention that I cannot use my galaxy s6 anymore. My friend has confirmed that is is an update but it is very weird. This is my first phone I have gotten and it has forced an update. Whenever I turn on my phone, my screen is left black with a white X on the bottom left or right. I have tried rebooting it but it just goes back to updating. I do not know how long it will take and I have waited for two hours. It still vibrates every now and then and I can take screenshots but it will not show anything else but the black screen. Does anyone know why this is happening? Or how long it will take to fix it?

After updating I cannot log into my email. It displays emails dated October 5 and older, but nothing newer. I tried logging in again and it says my username or password is incorrect. I can log into email on my laptop and my desktop.
