Update 29aug2017 and S6 drops wifi and just shut off by itself.
I have had my s6 Active for almost 2 years...Love it! Have had very minimal issue with this phone ever! Well that is until now..... within the last few weeks my battery life has significantly decreased and in the last couple of days the phone will randomly reboot itself, increasing in frequency to the point where now I cant do anything on the phone without it freezing and rebooting. UGH!! So I powered it up in safe mode, seemed to work okay but unable to use any apps in this mode. Tried doing a system cache wipe....didn't solve the issue! Does anyone have any suggestions other than a hard reset? and no throwing it out the window is not an option lol
my wifi and bluetooth isnt coming on anymore because of the new update.......i just hate my phone right nw
UPDATE SAVED MY PHONE
After months of reading your comments I finally decided to update my phone from 6.0.1 to 7.0 because the Wifi was so unstable. I was about to sell my S6... And I must say I'm sorry for all of you who got issues cause my experience with the new update is great. The wifi is stable now and stand-by battery life is improved. Can't say much about on screen time though but I can still get through the day.
My phone comes from Luxembourg and I've been stuck with g920fxxs4dpij for months since I first read your comments. Then updated to g920fxxs5eqg1. No regret at all. Cheers
I have rec one new update in s6 it has reverse the patch level of 1july into 1agust
Has anyone else "just" received yet another software update package?
Now, What am I to do? Do I risk downloading it?

I've been running the G920VVRU4DQF3 update on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 for about a week and my battery life has been terrible since the update. I haven't noticed any of the issues that others have pointed out, but I'm hoping Verizon/Samsung gets this broken update fixed.
Everything on my phone is crashing messages, internet and my apps are crashing from the new os update! It is nearly impossible to use anything on my PHONE! Is there a way i can remove the update? I have uninstalled and reinstalled apps and still no different...
After the recent firmware update, my phone today suddenly switched off. And after that it is rebooting at its own. After factory reset, it is getting hanged at initial google set up wizard. And it shows message that 'unfortunately google services has stopped.'
I HATE the new update!!! My phone will change settings on the phone by itself. The ringer will turn on after I mite it. The auto brightness will turn back on after I turn it off. My Wi-Fi freezes up all the time. The new keyboard is ridiculous. If I miss a call I have to search for it because the shortcut on my phone won't show it anymore. I hate this update it needs to be fixed ASAP!!
Ran this latest update and not only did it crash my otherwise fabulous phone, it deleted everything on my sim card. The battery life is now nil and I've had to re-install all of my apps. Samsung, what the ^&$%%$W are you thinking?? Please fix it now!!

My galaxy note 4 is now 1 year old since new purchase from Verizon, since the latest Samsung update it has been acting very strange.Took the phone into Verizon and was told that the pnone model was almost 4 years old.( I have only owned it new 1year).
I got upset and asked the Vernon clerk should I expect to pay $600+ for 1 year for a SMART Phone?
He said I cannot remove the update, told me to talk with Samsung.
I am thinking about a possible law suit over this.
Think about this for a min... if like me some of you are experiencing problems getting onto WiFi, then when you do eventually connect it's so slow you turn it off and use your own data.
Now I switch to wifi when I get home in the evenings normally but like I say, have been unable to since this latest update.
I've now used up all my data for the first time ever so have had to purchase more... could our network providers also be in on this?? Could the people who are responsible for sending us these sub standard updates be taking a backhander off the network companies? Just a thought x
This morning my Samsung S6 is displaying a request to install yet another software update,, this time "Version: G920FXXU5EQG7/G920FEVR5EQG1/G920FXXU5EQF1" "Size: 93.23 MB" . There is no information on what fixes and or enhancements are incuded in this update and no information to say who the authors (i.e. Samsung or Google or someone else) of this update are. The only options are Install Later, Install Overnight or Installl Now. There is no option to delete/dismiss the install. Interestingly, my wife who also has a Samsung S6 has not received any Software Update requests and is running on a much older version of the software. So why am I being targeted for this "update" ? Can I trust it ? - probably not, and where has it come from ? Samsung, Google or someone else ?
