Well it seems the discussion here has turned to Iphone beats the hell out of ngage crap. Well as much as i hate to agree to that, still the facts are out there. Some neandrathal said 21000 games, superior processing power means Iphone is better than PS2 (Have you ever played games on PS2 neandrathal, it looks you have only played pacman all your life). Its about quality & not quantity agreed,Ngage has 48 games out of which some are an absolute joy.Try playing Dirk Dagger once or Reset ageneration iphone neandrathals. But still the fact is that Ngage would end at 48 games only, while i phone has all game developers working for it.See the favouritism it gets,Asphalt5, krull,Real racing all made for Iphone, even the best racing game Fishlabs Vrally looks great for Iphone. Lastly the ovi store has a lot of crappy java titles (come on Nokia its ovi - symbian , please no Java).Hey i am sure we wouldnt be seeing the last of the Iphone Neandrathal, he would definitely reply to this!!
Anonymous, 04 Nov 2009Yeah, because the NDS and PSP have got nowhere near the 21,000 plus games iPhone OS has, they ... more"And nothing of value was lost" poster here.
As told before, one thing is quantity and another is quality. Most of the iPhone/iTouch games available at the moment are crap. Even the ones developed by important companies (Konami with Sillent Hill or Capcom with Resident Evil) stay short compared against their console counterparts. I read before someone who said that the iPhone has almost the same power as a first gen Xbox. That comparition goes directly to the trash when you compare Resident Evil 4 for the iPhone, which it looks horrible compared with its Game Cube/PS2 counterpart, consoles technically inferior to Xbox.
This is not an iPhone/iTouch thread, fanboys just wanted to compare their Apple apps with the N-Gage ones, as they have nothing better to do as I see. So to finish this discussion:
iPhone/iTouch are multimedia devices. They can manage many applications, mainly music, videos and internet access, and secondary ones like games or agenda. But these secondary ones, normally available as apps, are not really necessary for the main function of the device. Games are not a purchase factor in the iPhone/iTouch.
Meanwhile, NDS and PSP have their main function as gaming devices, while their secondary options, like music player or internet navigation are not really necessary for this consoles to work.
As a gamer, I dislike this comparition. Is like telling that a car and a bus are the same just because you can drive them, ignoring all the other factors that make the unique and different.
iPhone/iTouch are NOT gaming consoles, are multimedia devices.

Stay away from The Flip Font app on Ovi Store if you have the N97.I downloaded it and it started to shut down all my other apps. Very bad virus on it.

I agree there's no comparison Apple wins comprehensively.
=====================
even if you have gazillion crappy games made for neanderthals, that number still cant match tekken 6 BR for all eternity. one game to beat them all hahahaha @_@
it aint about the numbers m0r0n, it's all about quality @_@

And nothing of value was lost.
Lame gaming platform since the beginning, and I hate to admit it, but Nokia should have learned from Apple and their games selection.
And no, you can't compare an iPhone/iTouch with an NDS or a PSP. iPhone may serve for games, but is not a full gaming platform as the other ones.
hardly surprising here. Ngage was an awful way to waste your time. as a n81 user myself gaming wasn't really a selling point for me but when i did try. it was simply rubbish. and i never bothered to run ngage application ever again. sorry to see you go but saw it coming.

Cause not being able to play metal gear or the better version of res evil bugged me alot since they were playable on
N81/8gb,n95,85,82,5630....ect
And then n97 and 5800 got all the crappy versions
But they better start letting more devs make apps not as big companies but as individuals devs
And atleast make a lite touch version of the games we missed in ngage with virtual buttons
Deep space bar, 03 Nov 2009Atleast the all the game are easier to fihd but no more certain games like metal gear and ONEof course such better games are due out. hat's no problem with nokia, and besides symbian is open sourced so any devs out there can make quality games for mobiles.
besides, id be too busy with ubt/fbt to play games anyway.. id rather play with my psp than settle with a so so gameplay level as that of s60s..

imo, it's still the same.. it's just like porting the ngage platform to ovi store so that nokia can consolidate most of its services into one source. they'll still have support for all gaming and all. it's kinda hard to toggle sources.
Rahul , 02 Nov 2009Its a shame really that a unique concept like Ngage which was basically a gaming console on a ... morepoint well made !
There is a lot I do not like about Apple, but the fact that they come out of nowhere take existing technology, take it to a level never seen before, and then others follow must be acknowledged. N-Gage, was a good idea, but the execution was very poor. R.I.P N-Gage
Its a shame really that a unique concept like Ngage which was basically a gaming console on a mobile device is shutting down. Its largely due to 2 reasons: Nokia & crappy games (thanks a lot Gameloft). Most of the games (Gameloft games all of it) were just ported to Ngage when they were already available on symbian platform.Morever Nokia's strange policy also helped: firstly no ngage support for N73, N93, N76 etc all Series 60 3rd edition (first version) phones. N93 with tv out dedicated 3d accelerator still no ngage support strange considering you have unofficial cracked Ngage support for them.Morever the few number of games, fewer quality games & large crappy games (Ducati Moto leads that).Honestly with amazing games such as Reset generation, The One, Resident Evil Degeneration Ngage was off to a great start. Its a pity its no more. Thank you Nokia for killing Ngage again & lastly thanks gameloft for without your support ngage dead thing would not have been possible. I am sure Iphone fans would be partying.
