The answer was that apple don't police development on OS X, hence why there IS a version of Firefox for OS X, you wouldn't know, you've probably never used OS X. Then you responded with firefox being open source! Completely on a tangent!

There is no submission/approval process for developing apps on OS X. The SDK is available and anybody can develop and distribute apps freely on the web.
