I still say delta updates (like what I'm getting on my nexus 6 once a week) is the best approach. It happens once a week, asks me if I want to download it, is always smallish (around 20-100mb), and ensures that I always have the most current, bleeding edge version with the newest features that are dev added. In the past 2 months, absolutely no issues, and it just keeps getting better.

nice move by MS, all phones should be updated at the same time. i have a galaxy a5 and my bro has note 4, he already updated to lollipop while my galaxy a5 still stuck on kitkat and android M is rumored to be release anytime soon. android will be the only one left with a very high fragmentation, unless they do something about it.

As long as we don't need to factory reset every time we updated a firmware like what Android needed to.

At last Microsoft! let carriers go to hell! customers comes first not carries!
Thank you! everyone was waiting for Microsoft to do that.

i have my L1520 and my carrier does not update my phone because they suck! so by doing that i will get all the updates without caring whose your carrier, a la Apple, this is the way to go. Bravoooooo

I dislike their OS for other reasons (I'm not a fan of tiles and their personalization doesn't really allow me to get around that), but we have to give them credit where it is due.

It's a lot more easy to promise push-updates for a few million devices than it is for a couple of billion of devices. Especially when those couple of billion of devices have a wide range of hardware in them, instead of just a few select options.
