Isn't it funny how every manufacturer seems to ignore the popularity of the Z Compact series?

They should make mini version like Sony make Z1/Z3 Compact. Compact size but top/very good hardware. It should be 4,2 - 4,7 with really good spec and total size not only screen is importance.

"Overall the industry is moving towards new phones over 5 inches ... "

That's the industry, not the real demands! God, if all Presidents and CEOs are like this guy, the world is going to hell. Oh wait, it already is.

So, the One M9 has become the "mini" now?
Since it is the least big among the One series this year...?

                Btw, RIP One Mini...

While there are tons of 5 inch m9 variants they decide not to make mini? Very bad move.

nickname, 18 May 2015Sony compact series Amazing flagship specs. Killer performance. Forget other smaller versions. There is only one mini flagship, and that's the SONY Z3C. All the other minis and compacts are just jokes with their pathetic specs. The Z3C punches them through the wall. AND it's better than ICrsp 6.

Mini sales were poor because people want a true mini not a dumb down version of a flagship: Same specs, just smaller screen!

I don't want any phone with a screen above 4.6".

The One Mini's sales were poor because both versions were hobbled in terms of specs. RAM in particular. In spite of what Google or HTC will tell you, 1 GB is just not enough for Android to run smoothly in real world use. RIP One Mini, you were never given the tools you needed to succeed.

how could it be possible to compare htc with sony!
                            compare apples with apples.
sony needs further time to be able to make a good mobile.

Unfortunately it's people like Tong who have no idea what consumers are really looking for, hence why the M9 is so flawed. (And yes, I currently own a HTC).

The Z Compact series from sony is the only one worth considering really, if you want a compact android phone that has the SAME SPECS as its bigger brother. Aside from the screen size and resolution.
