My wife has hers and it's pretty cool..Does a lot more than my TAG and cost a hellava lot less money..Apple products are not for everyone but everyone does want them. I'm sorry that you can not afford one but don't come on this site and be a hater..I tell ya what..I will sell you my wife's Gen 1 when I buy Gen 2..Ok?

I firmly believe in their current form the smartwatches are useless and no more than a fancy piece of chip and glass on your hand. This product line will soon be shelved by all.

They may want to remember that we are still waiting for availability, for most of the world its not available in any stores. Additionally, unfortunately the store availability will collide with start of summer vacation in several countries where people normally can afford the watch, not the best gadget buying time. Online-only availability has hurt sales but it could even out over some time. Also the need to order an appointment to try it on is a disastrous strategy. Furthermore, availability for the Christian confirmation season in northern Europe would have generated huge sales, im surprised that Apple does not know about that, its not uncommon that one kid get presents worth 15 to 20 thousand Euro total, and thats in markets where Android marketshare is in free fall among the young teens and girls refuse to go to school with Android phones because its so shameful to own, the Apple factor is very strong lately and would have sold tons of watches in this richest part of the world.

Considering I haven't seen one in public sales are going to be closer to 5 million since most people are waiting a few generations for all the issues to be worked out, battery life to improve from 2 to 3 hours screen on time and more useful features added. Oh, and a design that's less ugly.

besides, most of the people wear a watch anyway and I don't think I make a mistake if I say they are useless nowadays. you don't need x gadgets to tell the time, you just need one. and that "one" is NOT the watch anymore usually. so most ppl would wear it simply because they are used to or as accessories to make them look/feel more

I bike a lot and when you bike taking a phone out of your pocket can be fatal to the phone,if you listen to music you can easily skip a track or change the volume,sending heart beat to another Apple watch owner is silly but controlling it might be important to some people.
I use so called smart watches since 2007 (Sony Ericsson MBW-100,150,liveview,Sony SW1 and this days SW2)
I'm used to it and could not do without,but did not see yet one thing the Apple watch can do that others can't,the design is not my taste and the price is too high.
For 99$ it was a hit.

I am for your information a solid Apple fan, and love their technology and also their products. No harm in any one wanting an iPhone, but I said and read carefully : The watch is apple telling us to use a 38mm or 42mm screen to operate their 4.7 or 5.5 inch beautiful made device. Now you get it ?
