Z4 is just an iteration of the Z3, but the Z3 is already an excellent handset--in fact, last winter USAToday said the Xperia Z3 "may be the best phone money can buy," and "as close to an ideal phone as one can get today". With battery life better than Galaxy S6 or iPhone 6 according to GSMArena, 21-MP camera that works well in very low light, and an IP 68 (highest) waterproofing rating, it's easy to see why they said that.

gab, 22 May 2015so, no real upgrade for this year? how sad. just lost my last hope for sony.Sony are waiting for the Snapdragon 820 to be ready before they release their 2015/6 flagship. The 810 debacle meant that HTC, Sony and LG had to either compromise and release a flagship with an underpowered processor or delay until the 820 was ready. I think whatever is relased by Sony next week is just a stop gap measure. Im not sure I can be bothered waiting any longer so if it gets released in UK will definately consider it.

it it has everything z3 has with much louder speakers (both headphones and front speakers) ill buy it. If not, another skipped device.

Z3 was not an incremental upgrade to Z2 but sales were up 11% for sony last year as to 2013...

There is very little evolution on this product the Z3 owners can still use their devices still a good deal.

A smartphone's strongest points in my opinion is strong battery life, great camera, a display that will have a perfect balance between size, max resolution and power efficiency, ergonomics and a lag free working experience. None of the current smarphones on the market have all this qualities. Samsung is building it's smartphones based on the market request statistics and a few risk taking decisions while keeping the building cost down as much as possible but sony is the absolute oposite, never listens to anyone and always builds what it wants no matter the cost.
