As for US market carrier availability, I believe it is not Sonys guilt, but apple and samsung monopoly and influence over carriers...., T mobile sold out z3, finally got a new shipment now....
Good mouth spreads, but what worth is investing in marketing, if carriers do not support you as equally...

But true, they certainly should put in new marketing managment, and not announce phones as early, took them 3 months to get m4 aqua from announcement to shelves...
Albeit, things are good at this moment for Sony mobile, not producing much profit, but also not making loss...
Using cheaper mediatek SoCs on lowrange and some midrange should reduce prices also, making them more competitive to chinese manufacturers

But no one's gonna buy your phone if they don't know about it. And they won't know about it if you don't advertise or make it available on most carriers. Heck, Gizmodo said that "lack of distribution is dooming this fantastic handset"--they were talking about the Z3 Compact. Thing is, Sony has some nice products, and gadget critics love them. But they don't make the stuff available.

Yes, the Z3 sold more than the Z. But not because it was highly desired, but more so because it was more available than it's predecessors.
Listen, I'm not here to bad mouth or troll Sony. I'm simply pointing out the obvious, which is, this company's mobile division isn't in the best position as it stands. Sadly like Nokia, Sony has all the capabilities, yet none of the guidance. And it's costing them dearly. And most of all it's costing us dearly. Because if their mobile division fails. It us who lose.

Anyways, in a couple of days sony is having a press release in China and India so we will see what is new...
Sony themselves said they are not into competition race anymore, but user experience and quality enhancement..., and said Z3 outsold original Z allready, in less than a year...
So yes, even without good marketing and no incremental design change, user experience, good mouth, and quality improvements actually do count...

I'm literally saying, if Sony actually made most of the products that have been leaked. I believe they'd be in a better position. Once again, I'm not saying their products are failing because they aren't good enough. I also believe their marketing is faulty. But at the end of the day, in order to overtake the competition. You cannot just make great products. You gotta make superb products that cannot be denied. And I believe some of Sony leaks have been superb, whilst the products they've released have been great with room for improvement.

As in 'leaks' that never come to fruition, the P2, the sequel to the Z ultra, near bezeless devices, new design etc. But thanks for your two cents anyways.
