Bit strange to say Samsung are imploding, because they havent changed their software. Up until today, Apples iOS is basically the same as years gone by, apart from when they changed the UI with iOS 7. the interesting thing is, that Apples strategy under Jobs was to maintain the 3.5" screen, and not go big. What has helped Apple alot with the amount of sales, is that once they went big in terms of screen real estate, it became intriguing to the Apple fan base, as they have never seen an iphone bigger than 3.5 inches. Samsung are doing okay imo, and while they might have wanted to see more sales, its year on year consistent with units sold/shipped, so thats hardly imploding. In the next few years if not now, both Samsung and Apple will in any case lose out to the likes of Huawei, Oppo, Gionee and some of the other Chinese brands.

The problem is no matter how good samsung is, competition has caught up, it's not like few years back whereby every tech website u go, it's "Samsung vs Apple", Htc, Sony, Asus, Lenovo, Moto, Xiaomi and so on is eating up Samsung's share in the high, mid and low end tier.

Apple's end will always be steady on the other hand cause people who uses iPhone will stick to iPhone (NEVER be number 1, but very very unlikely to drop out from the number 2 spot), but Droid users like the diversity, hence some of them who are tired of touch wiz, can simply get a Htc and try out android from another perspective (sense).

Alex G, 01 Jun 2015You can use a micro usb to sd car adapter to transfer photo's. My S6 Edge is 64GB so don't see... moreI thought Apple solved the battery issues already. My friend came from iPhone 5 to 6 and she said it was a huge improvement. But that's considering that iPhone 5 battery is downright pathetic, her phone drain power in airplane mode faster than my phone with data on.

C'mon guys let's not be naive. How can 'SAMSUNG' implode just bec of one faltering smartfone?? Samsung is HUGE - it's into shipbuilding (one of the largest shipbuilders in the world), engineering (13th largest construction co in the world), insurance, runs a theme park in S Korea, electronics (world's largest IT co, of which phones & semiconductors is only a part), advertising, not to mention appliances like TVs, fridges, etc.
                  It's very2 diversified.
Something is amiss with the statement "Investment Bank Says Samsung's Business Is Imploding.". Oppenheimer Holdings Inc is not small fry and I can't imagine them saying something so irresponsible.
GSM should be careful it doesn't misrepresent Oppenheimer. Or is this mere sensationalism by GSM, just to stir up reaction?

And pay once, not with every next phone. I already have a 64GB card, thanks, but no, thanks. Oh, and i also have a power bank. Carrying it all the time with my current phone. I hate this, but at least my phone is old and inexpensive. But paying tons of money and still carrying the heavier and thicker than the phone power bank? Not gonna happen.

AnonD-30673, 01 Jun 2015this is true and these big companies like samsung sony htc make amazing devices far far better... moreIf Samsung can truely reduce models and variants, it can serve better service in term of software update. Now Samsung is spending a lot of effort to update each model. Apple, Sony and HTC are doing far better than Samsung because they have fewer variations.

AnonD-400457, 01 Jun 2015i belive there are two reasons for poor sales: 1.)S6 lacks removable battery and SD slot 2.)... moreWell that is what did it for me.

Have not seen an S6 being used by anyone but seen few S6 Edges and all female users? The Note is Sammys flagship just too big for most folk but it won't be if they drop sd card removable battery in Note 5.

In my opinion the S6 is the best phone on the market at the moment. Use it for 2 minutes alongside an iPhone 6 and you'll see how much better it is. SEE with THAT screen is one of the key words.

HOWEVER, there's been a certain amount of Samsung shooting themselves in the foot with the last 2 "S" phones. Lots of people went from Apple to Samsung with the S4 and as good as it initially seemed the build quality was mediocre at best, was buggy and had the swollen battery issue. Cue a mass move back to Apple.
The S5 was that small an update to make it almost pointless.

So...as good as the S6 is, you have many people now either tied in with Apple or Apple users still burnt from their S4 experience.

Perhaps as the S6 price comes down, there may be a move of iPhone 5S users giving Samsung another try (which I think it deserves).
