Now this looks like a better design or option with the current technology we have right now. You won't be getting that bulky, ultra geeky (and yet fanboys call 'em fashionable) watch faces, yet you can get the same or even more functionality (well in theory at least). Hope they can get a fully working prototype and production units right after before other smartwatch manufacturer catches on.

Sounds cool! I have no clue why more things aren't modular like this. Especially mobile video gaming equiptment

James, 02 Jun 2015What about wrist size? Adding modules increases the size of the strap. Which means, the watch ... moreThey will have thought of that, my guess is that it'll be more than one layer.

What about wrist size? Adding modules increases the size of the strap. Which means, the watch will require a bigger wrist size as the features increase. How about the people with small wrists? They're going to get less features.

Finally! a good reason to get smartwatches, and people not claiming for "which one is better". Imagine your self changing the ram, or the shape of the watch, just the way you want it ... completely revolutionary!, and great attempt to introduce modular concept into smartwatches market first and later on cellphones market ... :3 Great Concept!, Great Product!

Honestly? This should be the set standard for smartwatches. Traditional/Mechanical watches are highly tailor-worthy so why shouldn't connected wearables be?

Looks really ambitious, project ara isn't even out yet now here comes another variant, though I can imagine that they are going to adapt some of the technologies available in project ara to make this possible...
