If Apple really wanna go for a new cheaper device, they shouldn't include such hardware as a fingerprint scanner and nfc chip. Not all people would care for that. Plus a good 5mpx camera is more than enough for the odd shot with a phone. Slow motion video recording should also be left for the high end.
Bank on better battery performance and loudspeaker volume.

It actually make a lot of sense.
Done people are way more comfortable with a device that size.
While some like up to 5 inches. And some like phablets.
They are finally getting it. Now they will have that key size factors to choose from

The image shows 3,5 inch screen like 3g, 3gs, 4 and 4s, this size is very small, but the iPhone 5, 5c, 5s screen is great.

Does it include a magnifying glass? 4" is microscopic. How about reducing the giant bezels on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to make the phone physically smaller but with the same size screen like Samsung and others?

I take this to mean that Apple will upgrade the iPhone 5C with 5S hardware (A7 SoC, TouchID, etc).

well if the release a like iphone 5 device slim body and everything wold be nice and if it is cheaper apple will dominate based that there is not even a midrange entry level...with another range entry im sure will sell even more catching those that dislike oversized displayes and for those who dont care a bout moster performance. good move

I feel iPhone looks better in small display while Samsung looks betterin bigger display. But 4 inch display is quite small.

Should be 4'3 not 4 for mini version.. And 720p display and dual core with 2gig of ram. Then iphone 6s should 5 inch 1080p or then 6s plus should have 5'5 inch 1080p. I hope.. And also if their going to jump with 2 gig of ram if that's true maybe it's time for them to go quadcore at least. But dual core is enough for time being. At least for their OS

I had the iPhone 6 for a while, then got rid for the HTC, having hated apple for a long time, but i have to say, for the time i had it, i loved it, it's a great device and does what it does amazingly well, it's restrictive UI is probably the worst about it.
I'd say that they should stick with the iPhone 6 form factor, anything smaller just doesn't feel right.
Unless it's going to be a super cheap device, but i can't imagine the battery being very good.

Apple should take notes from Samsung when it comes to the lower end. Make a rugged plastic device, give it a non-camera option from the get go, make it have monster battery life (okay, BLU for that one) and make it intuitive for seniors. The iP6 series is horrible for seniors as far as I've witnessed.
