They cannot do all this split screen on older device as they don't enough RAM, all these days Apple was proud of its OS optimization running on 512 and 1 gb ram for a active single tasks what a shame... now they follow the foot steps of others...

It doesn't matter who "invented" multi tasking on tablets. What matters is that this is huge. Apple finally becomes competitive again on OS technologies. Up until lately they only had app selection to boast, year by year she leaves very little for her competitors to boast about.

Samsung had a better placing on tablet market with their note series (true multitasking, e-pen, correct aspect ratio, micro sd) but they have thrown all of these away (no epen anymore on tablets, no micro sd, mimicking of apple's aspect ratio). Good riddance I say, they take disastrous decisions time and again.

Wait can they really do split screen multitasking with just 1GB of RAM?

iOS is known to flush RAM as soon as the apps are minimized to save RAM. This helps it to run on low RAM. How will they manage it now? Have they learned the importance or more RAM finally?
