Slayer, 13 Jun 2015Credit to Sony! Customers experience a problem, it is reported, Sony owns the problem then fix... moreThey already knew that the S810 chipset had real issues with overheating and throttling, but they still went ahead and put it on their "new" device. And no, a mere software update is likely not going to fix a hardware problem. The S808 would've been a good choice, but no. Sony just loves to shoot itself on both feet!
Aramissss, 13 Jun 2015Snapdragon has released revised version for 810 cpu, which does not have overheating problem.Oh really, and where is the mysterious renewed Chip? In which device is it built in? Surely not Sony HTC or LG.
Why the hell do they even use sd810 knowing that it has sever heating issues
AnonD-365011, 13 Jun 2015There are already many great Android phones. I won't be surprised Sony Mobile sold faster than... moreReally ? there are other better android Phones ?
Like with SD Cards , Radio , Water and Dust proof and great looks and great batery ? Show me just One
Credit to Sony! Customers experience a problem, it is reported, Sony owns the problem then fixes it! Job done....If only other companies owned their customers' issues in the same way instead of going into denial mode. Looking at you Samsung as the battery life on S6 is crap and you know it!
I think Qualcomm has been bought to destroy the already ailing Sony and HTC smartphones.
Kudos to Qualcomm for messing up most of the 2015 smartphones!
Billyj, 12 Jun 2015Everything is a software fix these days, my cat hates me, but wait there is a software fix for... moreLOL. Finally someone said it! That "firmware update" blanket response for all issues is no longer going to work. Release the phone without flaws instead of pushing newer models every 6 months.
Hmm yet again Sony flaws show up. And when legit claims of Z3 compact self cracking were reported all these Sony fanboys who don't even own the phone were claiming those are lies, samsung paid trolls etc... Nice work you're doing covering Sony's butt and the consequence is that they've yet to sort out any problems.
Sony just repackaging the same crap for 2 years now. Even the M9 wasn't so bad a release.
Aramissss, 13 Jun 2015Snapdragon has released revised version for 810 cpu, which does not have overheating problem. And Z4 uses revised one..
Anyone please invent a watercooling case for all these fire breathing SD810
What a surprise. Just steer clear of any phone with a snapdragon 810 inside.
Aramissss, 13 Jun 2015Snapdragon has released revised version for 810 cpu, which does not have overheating problem. The Z3+ has the fixed version of Snapdragon 810. So maby they need to indeed optimize it some more.
software fix could only mean down clocking the 810
AnonD-129510, 13 Jun 2015Why does qualcomm continues shipping their 810 chip when it's already obvious it has a defect?Snapdragon has released revised version for 810 cpu, which does not have overheating problem.
AnonD-405798, 13 Jun 2015for me, this phone shoul 5.5 inch screen with massive 4000mah battery. then i satisfied and wa... moreIt's not the OS it's the CPU. Any other CPU than the Snapdragon 810, 610 or 410 doesn't overheat so severely. In fact the Snapdragon 801 couldn't overheat even if it runs constantly at max speed.
This is a disaster to these overheating phones....
Hope that exynos7 galaxy s6 gets the same update to fix the same problem:

Sony just bring out the Z5 series with the s820 chip and this will be forgotten.
Anonymous, 13 Jun 2015There's no software fix. They can only gimp the Snapdragon clock speed to make it slower but ... moreYes, sony better take it that way..
