If htc want to survive then they need to do two things,go back to making good phones that do what folk want them to do,stop pissing about trying to beat the big boys to every innovation, make them easy to unlock so that we can use tge full capabilities we have paid money for,my new desire 510 is a pig to get unlocked,i cannot even get to bootloader without having to downgrade it first, tgen muck about getting root etc. I had 5 htc hd2's,the first android phone there ever was, even if meant to run winmo 6.5,hd2 is a legend, with good reason, cos it was easy to do anything to and would run anything thrown at it,i have had loads of htc's through my hands since then and they have all been a disappointment after the fun and sheer use that i could put hd2 to. Second is drop the prices,or if you going to charge top dollar prices, then just unlock everything so we can use them properly. I buy my phones direct,no network, therefore no subsidy,so why should my property be semi crippled and almost impossible to yse as i want, its like buying a car,but having a lock in tbrottle and gearbox so that you can never go faster than 50kph in first 3.gears and having 4 and 5.gear there but locked off or paying for air con but no control to turn it on,i pay top price for phones and have to put up with crippled devices.i used to tell everyone to get htc phones, not anymore i dont.they are awful vakue for money and get more and more crippled by crud software and stupid locks.
I have an HTC M9, it's my first HTC phone, my previous phones were galaxy from samsung and I really don't miss galaxy or samsung, the M9 works great, feels great and looks amazing.
But my HTC Evo 4G LTE (One-X version for Sprint) never fail me all these years. Banzai to HTC.

PKC, 15 Jun 2015I would love to do it. It just common sense to listen to the customers. That's the thing that is too difficult to these people I guess
More like quietly stubborn. International brand? Please, I've witnessed at least one of your stores closed down and had been completely replaced with a Lenovo mobile shop. OK, allow me to spare your business strategy, I'll just assume that it was just your way of cutting/trimming down on equity to recover losses with insignificant to no profit. But figures more often than not speak more than volumes. I don't know why you still can't take a hint after your recently reported stock plummeted nearly 50%. Why not listen to your customers and make ULTRAcarefully planned yet critical and foresightful changes? If your customers and potential customers alike are virtually your only insurance for sustaining profit and gaining market lead. Why make boom speakers, HTC logo on black bar, non-removable battery, camera which delivers discrepant performance in image quality as your major selling point if among a few of these constituents create an astonishing recipe that drives away your customers or potential customers? Maybe there are a few loyal customers who worship or need some of those aforementioned features. But please, take a careful stare at statistical reports and try to figure out why your end appears to consistently lose sales numbers whilst other competitors have reports showing dramatic increases in their sales numbers. I suppose it wouldn't even take a high schooler to infer from the reports as to where your sales numbers or customers have gone to or switched to. Even Google figured out how the heaven did their Android One's sales reached poor sales numbers relative to their projected sales. They did say their going to make changes but time would tell how would that pan out. Doi. Now, you decide to pull something along the lines of 'hero product', we could only hope it would go well
Its like this for me. All I want is a metal 5.5 screen with smaller bezels. If these are not the specs in October I'm going with the new Samsung note 5.
AnonD-189020, 15 Jun 2015Gsmarena should put up a thumb up optionThey already have. You have to login to use.
AnonD-189020, 15 Jun 2015You should take over as CEO at HTC I would love to do it. It just common sense to listen to the customers.
AnonD-189020, 15 Jun 2015It is a great device. To me it's the best phone in the worldIt's good, except for the terrible camera. I don't use camera that often, so it's kind of "okay" for now.
PKC, 15 Jun 2015Indeed. I don't know even after all these feedbacks why these companies keep their eyes closed... moreGsmarena should put up a thumb up option

PKC, 15 Jun 2015We as a consumer really don't understand why to remove the best selling features. They are giving silly excuses that memory card makes the phone to be slow but HTC m9 is faster than s6 if it is not for the reason of over heating and down clocking of the cpu. I have a 64GB memory card which costed me and it means if I'm to get s6 I have to park it.
Majority of flagship model have non-removable battery, its been years, don't understand why some still bring this up? use a power bank, it doesn't weight much more than additional battery. like many had said, if the Chinese manufacturer can have >70% screen to body ratio, why can't HTC? Why the Chinese phone that cost a fraction of M9 can have comparable camera PQ? Why the One series internal components layout always look messier than the other flagship? I'm sure if HTC engineer can learn something from other maker, they surely can shrink the body size by placing the components neatly. I have a feeling, they design the case first then just junk all components inside. for the M7, I can forgive them cause it look beautiful; for M8, they got lazy; and the M9 is simply unforgiven!
I'm a HTC supporter, currently have 6 HTC that I bought for myself and my family members. it will be really sad for me if HTC goes bankrupt but if they can't be bothered to save themselves, nobody can.
AnonD-393177, 15 Jun 2015Long live for HTC! We love you! If you want to keep yourself alive, then make more affordable ... moreDesigning is not the issue with hTc but they have to get out of their arrogance and listen to customers. Remove that ugly logo Bar, reduce bezels and make price more affordable.
Currently, in Qatar M9 cost around QAR. 2799/- ($767/-) and S6 at QAR 2300/- ($630/-). If people get a choice then they will surely go for S6 or even iPhone.
