It's about time. I have so many chargers lying around, it's ridiculous and wasteful. I hope everyone does this. The chemicals used to make the electronics in chargers are horrible pollutants and destroying rivers near factories.
The obvious solution is to simply explain the environmental issue and laws, then offer people the option to order the phone with a charger at a nominal extra cost. That way people won't feel ripped off (because the cost is small), but have no reason to get the charger if they already have a lot of them.

The Chinese company has its own agenda. They are trying to avoid their liability if something goes wrong with the phone where incident related to any charging issue. Because you are not using the charger they provided.

Charger could be optional. people needing one could claim it for freer upon or after buying the phone. this is environmental conscious and at the same time respecting costumers needs.

every phone's battery has a capacity of charge it can handle! we cannot use any local branded charger! one I tried using some other companies charge in some other phone and I ended up with battery causing issue like getting emptied etc after the battery level reaches 45% and as soon as I switched back to original charger (That came with handset) the problems disappeared!
So the one supporting this move are senseless without common sense! go and buy a brain for yourself morons!
first pulling out Earphones from pack and now battery? So you will only be supplying just a phone without single accessories? thats the worst decision I could have heard! would never prefer a xiaomi product in future!

This will make the door wide open for all crappy accessory manufactures to sell their crappy non qualified accessories considering there IS STILL First time smartphone users
And the major accessory manufacturers DON'T SELL everywhere so your claim is invalid
Here in Egypt it is very hard to find a proper charger other than the oem one and even that is hard to find
So all shops will resort to buying crappy accessories
