Anonymous, 20 Nov 2009You must be an American, you get for "free" or "cheap" phones because you're paying for those ... moreAre you serious? UK are the ones that get All the top of the line phones for free or cheap. Look at the O2, Orange and Sim Free plans, You can get most phones absolutely free and only paying around $60 (converted) a month. We Americans get crap phones like the iPhone 3GS. O2 needs to come over here to America.
Nokia should consider to use other OS instead of Symbian. Symbian OS in Nokia phones always pop out a lot of problems, unlike other such as SE, Samsung which can make better phone with Symbian... Symbian should be "Abolished" in nokia!
I am Nokia's CEO, 20 Nov 2009Thanks for your valuable suggestion , we have taken into consideration.. now kindly piss of... moreI am OUTRAGED that a nokia rep said this to a costomer, SHAME ON YOU!!!!
I like the idea of having both OS. It will justify some price differentiation as Nokia's N-Series lines tend to overlap and be released almost on top of one another.
When it comes to choosing an OS, Nokia deems Symbian as more suitable for mainstream smartphones, while Maemo will be used only on powerful high-end productivity devices.
The above confirms that Maemo is superior to Symbian and symbian has to be updated to face the next decade.
Anonymous, 20 Nov 200930 apps open at the same time on the N900:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7emvUBpEkbUI just watched the video and OMFG nokia just relased a monster from hell
28 apps open at the same time with little lag and after the first firmware update i bet it will go up to 40 apps open and since it's linux and 5mp they can customize or completely chance the UI for it and make the camera pick up more light in low lighting places
Pre ordering in a week for sure
[deleted post]I have use the iPhone, in fact n900 is going to be its replacement.
And it can't compare to n900, I can actually see all the web with flash, no need for apps and crap like that. I can use REAL programs.
And English this site is in English, write in English.
Leave Spanish at home.

Anonymous, 20 Nov 2009That's great and all but none of this is going to succeed until Nokia drops the prices of thei... moreYou must be an American, you get for "free" or "cheap" phones because you're paying for those phones with your contract.
What Nokia sells in the US are unlocked phones, everywhere else Nokia's phones are very cheap in comparison with things like the iPhone 3GS which costs almost $1000 unlocked.
the companies dieing on itself, unsure what people really want.
something needs to be done.
If Nokia spent as much time listening to their fans/discreditors as they do trying to tell the media they're wrong about this or that information (which they seem to do a lot of), maybe they wouldn't be so surprised that phones like the N900 are what people really want.
30 apps open at the same time on the N900:
2009 is last year for Symbian S60 , New Symbian [Symbian Open Source] with better UI will born in 2010.
Dani, 20 Nov 2009Both are outdated OSes!Name a better OS than Maemo. Google's, Apple's and Microsoft's counterparts are far inferior...
Looks like an internal civil war is brewing in nokia. The loosing team will get mass fired.
Anonymous, 20 Nov 2009symbian is well out date!! it is about time to nokia change it! and it is about time to nokia ... moreThanks for your valuable suggestion , we have taken into consideration..
now kindly piss off.
symbian is well out date!! it is about time to nokia change it! and it is about time to nokia wake up too !! n900 is away too heavy!!!!! NOKIA U HAVE BEING LEFT OVER!!
It's high time symbian os gets a major facelift it's popularity is fading off.
I just bought a WinXP computer to browse a web and type a few letters. Are you telling me that the OS is two generation behind? Shall I shoot myself or the seller? I cannot type my letters on such obsolete system no matter what. I am so pissed on the Microsoft. Right?
