because typical Android users only care on the number of cores, and don't think of the practical and actual functionality. These are the same people who want 32GB RAM and 200 megapixel camera.

What I don't understand is - what is the need for 4 middle cores which are neither powerful nor power efficient? Why can't they do away with those 4 cores and retain only 6 cores (2 for heavy load and 4 cores for low demanding tasks)?

I agree that this is ridiculous, but the funny thing is, the people bashing Android for "needing" 10 cores apparently don't understand that this is basically a dual core chip. The A72s are the fast cores (the A53s don't even come close), and there are only two of them. So two "real" cores.

Does your phone actually use more than 1 core in multitasking? Apple is now developing tri-core processors while most androids are quad cores and even octa cores. Joy, 23 Jun 2015Does it even make sense ? excatly thats my point too...! And this mediatek is useless, its like their 10 cores thing will be equal to 8 core thing of other companies. And apple is using dual core which is way more powerful than this multiple core sht. Ipad air 2 dusted all the multi core things of android in style.

manufacture should be thinking about battery now, not on a performance
