asfx, 25 Jun 2015Huawei isn't premium, it's just a chinese company who is best remembered for cheap 10$ phones ... moreseems you never had huawei smartphone before????Am I ryt? coz people who used huawei smartphone wont give such comments? About the UI maybe you didnt know that it customizable? and Im confident to say that huawei has the best UI to date. If you use huawei smartphone such as mate7 and p7? you will know how to define premium! stop barking non sense about huawei coz you are just saying it without basis and never tested it as daily driver!

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2015Well you and I must of been reading different reviews. Because the reviews I read stated that... moreI didn't say it's a dud. It's ok-ish, but just not competitive.
Let's compare it to G4 for example. Both mediocre chipsets, slight advantage for Snapdragon, but this Kirin seems to heat less, G4's screen is better, camera, while Huawei has new white pixel, it can't match the superb camera on Lg. LG's UI is more mature, software-wise, i don't trust Huawei for updates while Lg is fairly ok with updating old devices. Battery seems to be the same, but Lg has removable battery and SD card.
About looks, personal preference, but leather G4 beats P8 anytime.
Well, does it worth it over 100$ difference? For me, not. And first of all, because Huawei doesn't yet have the experience, consumers trust and the brand recognition to play at such a high level. I do believe if it was priced at around 350-400$, it would be a "flagship killer", see OnePlus (also chinese) genius approach.
As usual, this is strictly my opinion, yours may differ.

price should be low...no one is going to pay for mediocre chipset and GPU.

granted its going to be a smooth performer for most people except for high end games but from future proofing standpoint....it doesn't meet the requirements and is rather overpriced like apple devices.

(The Huawei P8 is exquisitely made and can easily compete in the big leagues. The handset meets the club's dress code and carries a matching price tag. That, of course, means the performance bar's been set quite high.

The company indeed succeeded in producing a high-end device. Aluminum alloy secures the premium looks, matched by excellent handling. The P8 will get your attention and the build quality won't disappoint in the long run)

I haven't touched it yet, but i've seen plenty of reviews about P8(same hw) and it's less than impressive at a pretty big price. I'm tired of this "premium" trend, and inflating prices because they use magnesium alloy. Premium isn't all about materials, but build quality, software optimizations and good specs. If i want a premium looking phone at ~600$, i look at G4 with leather, or Z3/Z3+, not Huawei P8. And i don't care about nationalities, but i think Huawei should do what other chinese companies are already doing, offer decent specs at a decent price. Anyway, i talked more about P8 and not P8max. I don't talk about iphone, i had one but never bought one and never will.
