Just to reiterate, Comscore and Kantar measure two different things: Kantar measures sales data for specific period of time. In most recent survey, it had measured from March to May 2015 in US market, finding Android is gaining. Meanwhile, Comscore is about snapshot of consumer usage of the various devices, regardless of whether these are old phones or recently bought. That's why there is huge difference in the numbers they report. So it seems people are buying more and more Android phones, but people keep using iphones longer than Android phones.

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2015The materials aren't provided by Sony/Apple/Whatever, they're provided by another company all ... moreSamsung is still doing almost everything by itself, including design/manufacture of exynos SOC, memory, flash storage, batteries, amoled screens and final assembly.

LD, 04 Jul 2015Yet 4 days ago they (the media) were reporting that Samsung being top US vendor ... Kantar:... moreKantar and Comscore measure two different things. Kantar measures smart phone sales data for specific period of time, in this case March to May 2015 and found Samsung to be leading smart phone manufacturer, with Android having 65% of market share. Comscore on the other hand, measures subscriber base (which means who uses what smart phone platform). So total current iphone usage (regardless of model) is 43% in US. So Kantar shows sales changes in the smart phone market (android gaining), while Comscore shows current ownership of different smart phone platform/manufactuerers, reflecting more on retention, reuse or resale of used smart phones.

apple is growing in Canada too. Working for one of the biggest carriers in Canada, majority of my customers are doing upgrades and selecting apple iphones. at least a good 80% of the upgrades I've done are ios. variations of 5c 5s or the iphone 6 16 gb.

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2015Both Kantar and comscore use panels and not sales data to drive their metrics, so take that fo... moreNot misleading at all, since it was the strongest growth for Android and strongest decline of iOS since they started measuring many years ago. Also, not misleading because the decline of iOS (and rise of Android) already started 2 months after the release of the iPhone 6, which is a first.
It also highlights the largest market share of Android since they started measuring (52% may 2012, 52% may 2013, 61.9% may 2014, 64.9% may 2015) and the lowest data point in may of iOS (38.3% in may 2012, 41.9% in may 2013, 32.5% in may 2014, 30.9% in may 2015). So even accounting for seasonal results, the long term trend is still there.

AnonD-24213, 03 Jul 20151. Seems like everything is 'racism' for brainwashed dudes lately. Try to understand meaning o... moreYes I am British from Britain not Brittania and you obviously don't know the definition of racism it has nothing to do with colour but race and the post I commented on was having a go at Americans which ammounts to racism.
As for being a minority if that was to happen as long as there was mutual respect for everyone no problem.
I have no issue being in a minority.
