Samsung deserve a good praise for 2009 they seem the company everyone is trying to catch up with, the only thing Samsung as got to do now with all there mobiles put better Batteries on them as thats the only thing letting the company down,as the cost of buying an running there mobiles is way over the top, an hope they realise this an do this
Wow! Samsung corby is released just 2 mounths ago,and its sold in 3 millions!? It will be much bigger and more popular than star!!
samsung has got phones for each group of people . for lower end market thy have got star and corby and there high end devices include omnia omnia hd omnia 2 pixon etc. each mobile phone has something different . samsung is the best mobile company right now no doubt about it . thier touch wiz ui is good loking and practical . they make phones for all the operating systems .symbian , windows mobile , java , android and after some time bada . except it people samsung is better than nokia sony erricson lg apple and all other mobile companies.
well yes , samsung really are in the lead....nokia and s/e really need to pull up their ranks and come out with something good to rattle up the market...as a kid i've owned mobiles since i was 16...
i never liked nokia much because their interface didnt look as good as sony's flash themes...at that time i didnt know they were capable of multitasking and installing apps like a pc...but they used to lag like hell...i am talking about 6600 days...then i bought an n73 and n95 and to say i was shocked would be an understatement...the n95 had ruled back in 2007 even despite its shortcomings (battery, ram, slider and all)...but you all will agree that it was the most accomplished device of its times with no competiton...things looked rosier with devices like n95 8gb , n82 , n85 , n79 (96 and 78 were exceptions) but they were losing a bit of their touch in multimedia esp in the camera department...the competition was offering 8mp phones with xenon flash , face and smile detection , divx playback (Innov8 , C905)...even the current flagship...the n97 needs more RAM , a faster CPU and a better camera...hopefully the n900 addresses this but it still offers only 5mp...i mean c'mon...why are they still sticking with an obsolete technology ?? i dont know why they are afraid to go beyond the 5 mark...is it some kinda sensor-size or design limitation ?? its hard to tell bcoz samsung and sony have successfully implemented 8 mp cameras on their phones last year...
sony on the other hand has been moving slowly but steadily , almost unnoticed...their k850i was good handset...a true 5mp phone...yes it lacked wi-fi and wasnt as capable as the smarter n82 but offered good battery life and microSD support...there were W880 , W960 , W980 , C903 and W902 but then came top-dogs like C905 , W995 each one in a league of its own to take sony back to the peak...recently with Satio and Aino , they have hit criticism again and are still recovering...maybe Xperia X2 and X10 will redeem some pride...
if sony was moving steadily , samsung was a stealth-bomber...their g800/g810 werent as good as n95 but offered great value for money...then came innov8 and it simply blew the competition away...all that the n96 and others had plus a better camera and good audio quality added to a gr8 battery life alongside symbian...it was "the" phone to own a yr back...in came the first omnia , s8300 ultra touch with its superb touch interface and video capability...as time matured , their grip on the multimedia esp the touch market tightened with phones like the Jet , Omnia II and i8910 HD...its not just these high-enders,volume sales gained too w/ Star and Corby...they look ready to take on the world...
i cant say the same for LG bcoz i havent seen many good models from their sleeve...Viewty was good but not enough...Renoir was ill fated to lose all the limelight amidst Innov8 and C905...Crystal , Prada and all were well-designed phones but not blockbusters....last i heard Arena was their bestseller...
Despite the stats, I've always considered Samsung as the no. 1 in mobile phones!
In my country israel the f480 the onley one who sold in israel from this list sold so good and it a secsses you can see it every wherer and al the gsm cerriers shiping him right now and it in the market for one year but steel the hot phone.
I think thet because of the f480 iphone got a long way to sale 300'000 phones what the ship contrect say (thet they have to sale 300'000 together)
Doc, 30 Nov 2009Build quality is good but their software support sucks!! Get off ur ass samsung and give us so... moreI SECOND THAT!!!
Software UPDATE support sucks big time in what it seems to be the most important market: EUROPE.
Only regional (German/Italian/English) minor updates for the i8910HD have been released :-(
SHAME ON SAMSUNG SOFTWARE UPDATE-SUPPORT DIVISION.
Thanks to HyperX there is BIG custom-software SUPPORT for the i8910HD
Build quality is good but their software support sucks!! Get off ur ass samsung and give us some decent firmware updates, or most of ur smartphone users wont be coming back.
wow. amazing.. too bad in apac are not as successfull as other region.
i guess samsung will be success only in operator busines hahahahaha
I was fun nokia until this year.samsung omnia i900 has changed my opinion. Then I was disappointed with N96,N 97 and now I am excitedwith omnia hd and forever with samsung.Nokia does not know what is a lower sar value,a divx, xvid, dvd player without codecs or a amoled screen.reast in peace nokia
i want say that (Ring-connect) the big company for samsung warranty in Egypt present great service for samsung mobile specially touch phones like star, i try it thanks
yes they should be the first for the mobile phone, to be the first in multimedia, all the white product and maybe brown after all ! samsung the first corp for your flatscreen, fridge, washingmachine, mobile phone, computer, and so and so...
please do a review of the samsung corbypro as soon as it is released
however all samsung turf out is touch phones so this is not surprising at all not much choice for the consumer with samsung.
i will salute samsung for technology but for the physical or hardware i don't salute them, it's very cheap to look at theirs cellphone, and the name samsung is just to cheap to hear, they becoming like a china phone...
My old nokia n95 gave me a tough time, now i'm happy with my samsung g810,my dad have been using e880 for past 3years without any problem,if u see samsung phones page 3 you'll find many users using samsung phones for many years happily.
With samsung its not that hard to imagine.
They should make Corby WiFi just like the Star WiFi. Star WiFi has done great in the Middle East and if they release a Corby WiFi, I'm sure it will be a success too.
