Reza, 09 Jul 2015I don't know but why android users are always assume that moving to android will drive a phone... moreYou're right. I have seen lot of people here saying MS going to use Andriod,MS going to sell phone business. Who said they are going to exit from phone business.

First they are selling more than 10 million lumia each quarter and they do generate profit of nearly half billion per annually from Lumia alone, where as HTC, Sony reporting loss.

MSFT not going shut down producing Lumia. They are going to stream line the product such that releasing 6 device per year for Business, Flagship and Low cost instead of flooding in all price tag range so that other mobile manufacture will be able to sell the WP. Because currently Lumia hold 97% market share in Windows mobile and other manufacture hesitate to produce windows phone.

Windows phone isn't failed one. There are lot of country where it is second OS next to android and more country having WP with more than 10% market share.

All these info can be found by just goggling or from Kanter.

Was thinking of buying the Lumia 640XL, but with news like these about Microsoft I should just buy myself an Asus Zenfone 2 and safe myself any future problems.

Reza, 09 Jul 2015I don't know but why android users are always assume that moving to android will drive a phone... moreSo switching to Windows without the basic APPS you need like instagram is a good thing?

Also Windows version of apps that came from Android and IOS Ain't as good as their counterparts mind you. Windows apps are more garbage than Android's.

I've used em both and that's why I rant like this.

If Nokia went to Android route, It would've survived the smartphone wars. Also Android phones which don't look like iphones considering Nokia's edge on smartphone design.

I thought only isheep still think android lag... moreI have a galaxy s5 and (in my opinion) android is seriously laggy. possibly one of the worst phones ive had for lag and ive used Symbian for years. (to be fair Symbian was pretty laggy too) but compared to windows phone and ios, android seriously needs a rebuild. even phones like low spec Ubuntu phones outpace the best android devices.

It's as obvious as it's confusing.
MS were really struggling with Windows 8 receiving a fair share of the criticism. Then immediately after acquiring Nokia Devices & Services Division there was news of a 22,000 employee layoffs. I was like - Jab paise nahi the toh Nokia khareed ke kya ukhaad liya ??

Although I know that Nokia was acquired because they were planning to move to Android and MS didn't want to exit the smartphone business unceremoniously. So it was just a matter of how long...

We all knew this deal was going to come to no good because MS has lost track of how to innovate. Wait a sec , they were never innovators in the first place. Only reaping the fruits of First Movers Advantage when it comes to Windows.

So , as of today , we have close to 30,000 people who left MS/Nokia.
