I skipped the Nokia N900 (huge disappointment, Nokia can't get things right) and I'm so glad I did!
brilliant!!! good looking phones from htc! i might actually buy 1 of these next year... the legend has caught my attention...
The Android versions comming from htc are sooooo much cooler than those winmo ones!
Finally. A qwerty candybar WM phone with VGA screen! And capacitive to boot! And 3" too! And radio! My prayers have finally been answered. However, it doesn't mention video-call. Just hope it's there. Or if it's not, HTC will add this feature. If it has video call too, HTC Trophy would be PERFECT!!! Can't wait for it to drop
Anonymous, 09 Dec 2009again i agree with most of ur points except number 2. htc sense ui currently running on htc he... moreyeah, but we still dont even know if the Bravo will run sense... perhaps HTC has something else up their sleeve.
And just because something runs smooth with lower specs does not mean that it wont use more resources on a higher speced deviced.
We just have to wait and see...
Sure the HTC might turn out to be the better performer, but we dont know that for sure.
And isnt the mediscape and timescape actually applications... the rest of the changes, shouldnt be that heavy on the CPU and ram... it might, but it shouldnt have to.
We just dont know, thats all Im saying. Its too soon to tell.
HTC Tera will come out next year between the first and second quarter... Tera here i come baby, the kaiser is doing me quite well up to now so getting the Tera will be a GREAT upgrade! Cheaper version of the htc pro 2 & smaller... i love it cause i wasnt giving up my kaiser till a device close to its like and size comes out!!! then there was the HTC Tera lol
htc is doing very vell,,,especially with the prices, quality and design of their phones, i like everything that is called htc. byt this time i will wait for the TROPHY ,as my multifunctional choice, and easy to use,in every conditions ,almost perfect….peace
Anonymous, 09 Dec 20091 sure, we dont know when, but on the other hand, they are probably already working on it, eve... moreagain i agree with most of ur points except number 2. htc sense ui currently running on htc hero is fairly smooth and the specs of htc hero are 528mhz cpu and 288ram. by the looks of videos SE's ui doesnt seem capable of working on a device with those specs. it seems as tho it rly requires more intense processing. btw i doubt se will make their ui less cpu demanding cos their ui looks like a complete change over the traditional android ui whereas htc has added a few minor tweaks.
Anonymous, 08 Dec 2009most of wat u say is true but there r a few things i didnt mention (clrearly or at all) or som... more1 sure, we dont know when, but on the other hand, they are probably already working on it, even tho the version with 1.6 is not released. Rumors say that motorola did sign a contract to be first with 2.0, so SE havent had the same time with it. So it might not be long, or it might be long. Perhaps, if they release X10 before 2.1, they wont update until 2.1 is out. We'll see. And sure, they might not enable 16m colors. We just dont know... But if they by april has released the phone with android 2.0 and 16m colors, HTC hasnt beaten them on thoose specs.
2. the larger amount of ram, speaks in advantage for the Bravo. But we dont know about UI performance just yet.
3. If they have the option of single touch commands, they can enable multitouch, but if they focus all zooming to multitouch, its not really that practicle... sure you only need teo fingers, but then you cant hold the device as sturdy, and you might drop it.
About trackball, now, look at HTC tattoo, it doesnt have a trackball... and according to some reviewers, the d-pad is to prefer.
On the bravo, it just looks like a pin-hole.. lets hope its something usefull.. mic-pinhole located on the front doesnt seem that practicle... It could be some cool IR-beem or something as an alterative control... We'll see the day its out (if it turns out to be a real leak).
4 we dont have the prices yet, so we really dont know. even if the SE is more expensive when released it the price might very well dropped below the Bravo during the 2 months it should have been out by then.
Im not a fan of any brand... but right now, its way to early to tell which one of them will turn out the best.
An what if LG or Samsung, or motorola surpices us with faster cpu, 512mb ram, 32GB storage, full HD videorecording, 12 mpix, 4inch screen in a more compact body than the X10.
Its just too early to tell.
Anonymous, 08 Dec 2009we still howvere do not know if android 2.0 will bring more colors to the X10 experience. Caus... moremost of wat u say is true but there r a few things i didnt mention (clrearly or at all) or some newly released specs.
1st of all SE as we all know takes ages to rly get their software working so as long as x10 runs android 1.6 it wont hv 16mil colors and since SE dont mention the date x10 will be updated who knows how long it cud take them.
2nd, recent rumors predict HTC to hv the 1ghz processor but also 320mb ram instead of the 256mb ram mentioned earlier. this more ram, as well as what currently seems a less demanding ui (sense ui) than the ui SE is using shud mean that the bravo works overall faster or more smoothly.
3rd while it might be uncomfortable for some to use multitouch without 2 hands, it is possible(especially on a screen this size). u rly only need 2 fingers on the screen and only 1 of them has to move.
based on the new picture im not sure it is a trackball which wud b a 1st for android htc phones but if its some kind of joystick. anyway a search button is useful cos u can just press that while ur on the homescreen and search without hving to navigate to a widget or open a menu.
4th. SE usually has more expensive phones than HTC. so if the performance of SE is even as good or slightly better, there is no point in choosing that. SE has to be much better. however, HTC cud also decide to surprise the consumer and make it more expensive than the x10 - i dont think they will but u nvr know.
NvS, 08 Dec 2009What i'm saying is they will imitate what iPhone gave first :
capacitve screen, multitouch i... moreNo, actually Apple imitated the first LG Prada and even got dragged to court for it.
But i don't think anybody is imitating anyone. When it come to formfactor there isn't really any other way to make a full touchscreen device. There has to be big screen covering the whole front, and the phone has to be sleek. Touchphones are all gonna look like eachother unless you put a touchscreen in 8 ball or something.
As i see it all manufacturers have their own unique UI that does not resemble eachother in any way. OS programmers are not thet stupid that they can't make a Capacitive touchscreen without multitasking and icon based. That's child play, even i can create tha on cleen slate Linux.
Most manufactures and customers use resistive on purpose. Me as a customer, im not always in a position where i want to touch the screen with my fingers, like working construction, in harder or dirtier working envoirments, eating or just having greesy finger for some reason.
Using stylus for example give professional people a chance to put the phone down on the table and use it while doing other stuff to coordinate, tapping ad browsing with greater accuracy.
Someone compared Iphones sales figures to the rest. Iphone has sold little over 20 million handsets since it's release in 2007, which in nowhere nears Nokias 1.7 billion or Samsungs 900 million. What Apple doesn't tell you in their financial report is that they ad the profit of Ipods, Macs, Accessories and Apps into the whole sale figure, while the companies only announce their handset business.
Can you imagine the kinda sales figures for ex Samsung, LG and Sony would have if they added all their electronic divisions to one sale figure, like flatscreen Tv's, Mp3 players, dvd players, Pc's, Sony Entertainment etc.
Don't get fooled by the propaganda. My sister has a iPhone and i have benn thru it plent times to know that's it by no menas lives up to any kind of standard that i look for.
Adversity breeds evolution...
wow HTC rules man
Aparadektos, 08 Dec 2009I really doubt the spec are correct, most of the phones seemed to be a step back, compared to ... moreLook... HTC Road come up with all the right segmentation, from middle up to high end.
And do you even think that HTC Bravo isn't the same league with HD2??
Or you measure the capabilty by screen size? 4.3" compared with 3.7"? LOL...
I think that HTC Dragon is more size friendly and pocketable than HD2.
It's a great flagship phone by HTC. No question about it. Period.
I really doubt the spec are correct, most of the phones seemed to be a step back, compared to the current ones (HD 2)
The financial crisis is about to end and people we all ask for more and better (camera, display, features) i doubt all the models will be just price-friendly...
absolutely...... disappointed with their WM roadmap, is that the best HTC can do with their WM phone??? Looks like I was right to jump ship to Samsung.
I will be excited for the trophy. I just hope that these actually go to tmobile and boosth their sales so they can start getting back in the game. they are heading the right way with the new plans
Its a good thing that HTC is focusing on Android next year. they need to make a much more appealing and brings a lot more features to the android devices. enough with the windows mobile thing. its now worth it. windows mobile 7 should be release later of 2010 for sure. I have still high hopes for windows mobile 7 hope it would to great. now for the htc bravo i really like it android + a snapdragon processor would do just great. android is fast! with a snapdragon with it is becomes more faster! now the questions here is the camera and there video quality. i"m not really impressed with htc's camera and video quality. SE and samsung are by far the best when it comes to camera and video quality. I hope the HTC bravo really brings a true 720p a true HD quality if that's thing to happen then this is a perfect phone for the android users and i will buy it.
cocacola, 08 Dec 2009I really think that HTC don't have popularity as a brand it's deserve.. Not many people even ... moreSad but true. Who cares what others have to think as long we r happy with our HTC devices. I'm kinda happy with that HTC is rarely used, on this way I feel more unique...unlike iPhone that even half brain peasant can use.
crap, the Bravo with WinMo 6.5 (or 7) would be my pick.
hani, 07 Dec 2009not really the x10 very slow read previews about it u will see its very slow i would like to b... moreas for the speed of the X10, it seems youre the one that is not up to date, the previews out there with devices running newer software than in the units showed at its official announcement are not that slow at all.
but sure, the Bravo might rutn out to be a better performer... or at least a lightly more compact, and that is good. So if HTC manage dont fail with camera performance, or somehow make the device slower than it should be... and of course its not pricier than the X10. Bravo might be the way to go.
Too bad thou, that they used the snapdragon instead of the samsung CPU used in Omnia II and so on, since that one has GPU and also "speedstepping", Im not really sure that the Snapdragon actually does give more performance.
