@ samsung they wait with ... moremarketing strategy! make basic then release, add a little bit more spec then release, add a little bit more spec release...
look at iphone. They could easily have made the 3Gs have a 5mp cam with flash. But they chose to jump from 2mp -> 3.2mp.
Then everyone goes "YESS THEY EVEN UPGRADED THE CAM!!" People just fall for the marketing technique.
I wouldnt be surprised if the next iphone kept the 3.2mp cam and added a flash. I bet everyone would be still jumping for joy and dying to upgrade XD. (yes i know they improved other important stuff in the iphone 3G -> 3Gs)
Also the way nokia released the N95.. then n95 8gb, they cant make anything else to beat it. (people say the n97 is too buggy to beat it)
If only cheap, unlocked nokias (not the bloatware/carrier gimped ones), maybe they wouldn't be bashing them and at the same time, worshipping the iphone. *coughs* US media/american webloggers *coughs*
Not sure why there is so much US hate in these comments. We love phones over here just like you guys overseas. We have some crappy carriers, but... who in the world doesn't. This whole, the US doesn't get this or that cause they're slow is sort of tired. It's a big world out there, fellas, try understanding we're really not all that different no matter where we are. On the other side of the coin, it's a decent deal if you want Nokia Maps, but as said... most people will just opt for the free Google Maps with an unlimited data plan, or probably just crack Garmin to work on their device. Still, on the legit, and if you use Nokia Maps/Ovi Maps already, it's not a bad deal.
Well we USers are poorer as compared to the guys in EC since our dollars are down. We deserve cheaper stuff. Dollar for Dollar, we pay 300 and ECers pay 250. It effectively cost us more.
yeah but no one care, 09 Dec 2009about Nokia's terrible navigation program anyway. Who cares if the maps are preloaded? Is Goog... more"Most people in the US get an unlimited data plan"
we out here in the world don get unlimited data plans, the universe does not evolve around USA
hit article pretty much does, wow so the 5800 navi is now in USA
who gives a crap
OVI maps is great for poorer countries, google are i.diots by not letting us preload maps, its easier to use google maps but expensive
yeah but no one care, 09 Dec 2009about Nokia's terrible navigation program anyway. Who cares if the maps are preloaded? Is Goog... moreNice bias yourself. Unfortunately coverage in the US is shoddy at best, versus other networks in the world, so... I'm pretty sure you'd appreciate the preload features when you're out in a remote region and your connection drops.

@ samsung they wait with wifi and then put it in...
why dont you put it in right away?
Sounds like that guy is up his own arse... Nokia/Ovi maps is better at the end of the day for both pay as you go and contract users as your not wasting any data which is always good.
I think the Editor wasn't saying the Google Map wasn't feature-good. But just one thing is that can't be preloaded. what's bad about it is when the connection is low or bad or none. Your google map in such environment would be useless. I like Google map but i don't have a internet plan either, so, it's simply useless free. well, what do u think, i am cheap.
about Nokia's terrible navigation program anyway. Who cares if the maps are preloaded? Is Google Maps that bad you have to download? Most people in the US get an unlimited data plan with their smartphones ANYWAY... nice bias in the article.
Of course I do believe that people should learn about Garmin Mobile XT or Tom Tom 7 or whatever because in the US they are quite dumb about these things, but please don't go crapping about Google Maps on a news post like this.
is there a contest???
