David, 11 Dec 2009Nokia not inovative? Well i think the N900, 6700 Classic, X6, E72, E75, E55, E51, X3, Arte, N9... morenokia is innovative in the cheap phones category...sure nokia has all it takes to be the best but its not trying . its merely bring out variants of diff phones like e71 then e72 etc... its touchscreen technology is way behind apple .
apple has just one phone yet its talked about so much . once u use an iphone u cant go back to any other touch [phone .. ive used all of nokia's touch screen phones . but last month i used the iphone 3gs and its awesome . its touch screen and software is the best ..ease of use is unbelievable..its not a complete phone but its the best touchscreen so far ... and yet nokia can't bring out one phone to compete with the iphone . the only phone that can match iphone is the htc hd2.
n900 turned out to be dissapoining in the gsm arena review as well .
dump the stupid symbian is all i can say to nokia or keep it for low end non touch phones only..
hahhahahahaha..
mad decision.... poor nokia.
dis phone so cool.. :0 i want dis!
Anywhere, for this model.
BORING.
some old thing. The design, the software and everything.
Just add on a music download service.
Better go for 5800XM.
Hi, I would say Apple are innovative in their software, but is a bit boring to know that they keep coming out the same design, iphone, iphone 3G, 3GS, what the different in term of the physical outlook?
Nokia is very excellent company, look how many model they come out each year and how many phone they sell, but seriously they need to redesign their OS, symbian is just too lag and can hang occasionally. Hopefully Maemo 5 can replace the aging symbian.

you guys are funny,
fighting over who first amde this and who copied that....
hell i care who developed this and copied that, thing is its all good for us consumers,
these companies, will copy and try to out wit each other, and will develop better phones (and maybe cheap) for us consumers,
we get the benefit, wider choice right???
and about touchscreen,,,
come on chinese phones has been using touch screens,i think way before apple could ever spell apple on mobile phones..
not against apple, but compared to other technologies around, they in my opinion are not that good,
there are chinese phones that are tochscreens(way more responsive than iphone)that can even be a tv,fm,media player,

So it seems you have accepted defeat that iPhone can't multi task.
What say???
Why don't you try to find all the faults in iPhone first before bad mouthing others.
[deleted post]Don't you remember? iphone trademark belongs to Cisco, before Apple insist to use it. Apple is innovative company but not innovative at all. They have trouble with names. Look at this brand. Apple? Why not strawbery or pineapple or even coconut? Those Apple's product : iPhone, iMac, iPod, iTunes, iProtectZ, i and i.. and iHate iPhone.... Whats the different between iPhone and iPhone 3G or 3GS or iPod touch? Same boring design. You call it innovative? Yes. For a blind people!

Anonymous, 11 Dec 2009Copying the iPhone is not innovative, Apple is sueing Nokia for stealing their work, namely th... moreWell, you seem to forget the episode when LG took Apple to court in for copying their LG Prada, which was the first Capacitive Touch Screen device.
LG are childish and so are Apple. Nobody copy nobodys phones. How many different ways do you really think you can make a full touchscreen phone? It's big screen on the front on a sleek device, unless you are asking them to put the touchscreen on a ball or something.
Anyway, the Chinese where making touchscreen phones long before Steve Jobs even learnt how to poke his own nose.
So stop being a ****. I personally can't stand iPhone, it's a awful device, i had a 3G version for awhile and there's nothing you can ever say that was gonna make me keep it. I developed a strong dislike for it from personal exprerience.
The iTunes experience is awful, you have to look long and hard before finding a more annoying software. U can't get songs, videos, media, photos or documents from either your friends house, at public places or transfer anything from anyone. You have to be at your own Id PC, logged into to your own iTunes, having hell marking thos awful little ticked boxes that make no sense, so they can brainwash you.
My sister has it now and she loves it, she is 12 years old by the way. I use Blackberry 9700 now and im very happy.
And why do u iApples with low self esteem always feel the need to go into every discussion that has nothing to do with you and annoy the living daylights out of 99% of the world that can't stand Apple?
Deep space bar, 11 Dec 2009Go check out the nokia.forum site nokia stated that the apps developed can go on the ovi store... moreObviously Ovi is an epic fail because it only has a tiny percentage of these "millions" of Symbian applications which means it is being ignored by the vast majority of Symbian developers who came up with these "millions" of applications.
That is a total failure, without the developers onboard the Ovi store has nothing.
Unless the "millions" figure is a figment of someone's imagination.
children. please stop fighting. it's so tiresome. It lessons both of your favorites brands appeal. nobody likes fanatics.
Anonymous, 11 Dec 2009If Symbian has "several million" applications available as you say, then Ovi is an even bigg... moreGo check out the nokia.forum site nokia stated that the apps developed can go on the ovi store or put on their own site for retail so those millions of apps don't have to go on the ovi store it's up to the developers nub since the apps are doing well from their own sites why would they move them

And how did nokia really copy apple if apple never made a touch phone till now?

Unless there aren't really "millions" of Symbian applications and you just plucked a figure out of the air.
David, 11 Dec 2009Nokia not inovative? Well i think the N900, 6700 Classic, X6, E72, E75, E55, E51, X3, Arte, N9... moreCopying the iPhone is not innovative, Apple is sueing Nokia for stealing their work, namely the following patents:-
"The patents in question owned by Apple are (via Digital Daily):
No. 5,634,074 : Serial I/O device identifies itself to a computer through a serial interface during power on reset then it is being configured by the computer
No. 6,343,263 B1 : Real-time signal processing system for serially transmitted data
No. 5,915,131 : Method and apparatus for handling I/O requests utilizing separate programming interfaces to access separate I/O services
No. 5,555,369: Method of creating packages for a pointer-based computer system
No. 6,239,795 B1: Pattern and color abstraction in a graphical user interface
No. 5,315,703: Object-oriented notification framework system
No. 6,189,034 B1: Method and apparatus for dynamic launching of a teleconferencing application upon receipt of a call
No. 7,469,381, B2: List scrolling and document translation, scaling, and rotation on a touch-screen display
No. RE 39, 486 E: Extensible, replaceable network component system
No. 5,455,854: Object-oriented telephony system
No. 7,383,453 B2: Conserving power by reducing voltage supplied to an instruction-processing portion of a processor
No. 5,848,105: GMSK signal processors for improved communications capacity and quality
No. 5, 379,431: Boot framework architecture for dynamic staged initial program load"
Nokia should stop stealing others work.
Nokia is not innovative they just copy others, Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia's executive vice president and general manager of multimedia, at an event in 2007 when he compared Nokia's products to the iPhone: "[If] there is something good in the world, we copy with pride."
[deleted post]I disagree with you respectfully. While yes, Apple did revolutionize the App concept. Ovi is just nokia's new take on an old Idea to update for it's newer operating systems and phones. The symbian Line had several Million Apps availible for download and even as an Apple fan you know that comes no where close.
While yes the original iPhone changed the Cell world forever, it's tough to say that in a year they will change the game again being that in the 3 years since the release they have done minimal changes to the same exsisting template. Looking at a market of Free Apps, huge Mega pixels, bluetooth, operating system and mostly battery life the iphone once a leader in all those realms (except battery and camera) is actually starting to fall behind.
Good job nokia. 33 hour playback time is insane!!!
Does Nokia plan to hold some line of a quiz contest in the future where they'll show one of their phones and ask the contestants which model it is?
I don't think it is worth making owners of different phone model feel that they have the same one.
iPhone model is disgusting, don't let your designers be affected by it.
...yet another waste of materials, stock space and money.
