i think the winner of android competition is Chinese Phone (Xiaomi, Oneplus, Meizu, etc..).
Innovation is very important, but the fact is the majority of consumer love an affordable product, value for money, bang for the buck.

Samsung & LG can kick Sony from Television Market Leader because people see Samsung & LG more affordable than Sony.
    Innovation is just a bonus.
and Now, in smartphone market, Chinese Phone can provide more affordable product than Samsung & LG.

PRICE is the Main Factor right now!!!

I was a huge fan of lg.. i bought lg 50 inch tv lg phone, lg hometheater system. My lg tv had problems started in 2 months. I paid heavy price and took 5 years warrenty additional, but even after 3 times service i had lot of issues,i hardly watched two movies in my dvd hometheater of lg, it started to give error disc, i got it serviced more than 5 times no use.. luckily i exchanged lg tv for samsung, but had no buyers for lg hometheater. Samsung tv after 4 years still look fresh no complaints, but lg hometheater is lying dead, iam using it for listening fm...so how can i ever trust or recommend lg.. happy with samsung i will be exchanging it for uhd samsung.. for me lg is worst than crap chineese companies. .sony and samsung has been worry free, repair free.. i took xperia z1 exchanged soon for z2, may soon exchange for z4.. i bought samsung tab s , happy with it... never ever think of lg, even if they give 15 years warranty. .. for me lg is dead company

Don't forget India does not produce any phones in the world and all the mass market in India go for dirt cheap phones. Get a life!

                    [deleted post]Dear sir,
You do not understand how the whole mobile industry has been led by Samsung(korean). If this had not happened the mobile industry would be ruled by the iPhone, as motorola could not take android to the world by itself. HTC did help but the majority of android users in 2011 and 2010 would have had Samsung or some an HTC.

Oddly I own two huge LG TVs and also just this weekend bought the LG G4.. love that phone.. Android.. agh its an ocean. People can get lost in the options. That being said I also bought the HTC M9, and it feels completely different from the G4 or GS6, but most people dont know that and only see it as "the top droid is Samsung GS6". iPhone and Blackberry to me stand out. Any droids are discovered gems to me. GS5, G4, and M9 really are excellent quality phones but I bet they are hard to sell.

LG G3 & G4 have short battery life.
                          2K display is useless.
Full HD display is good enough for a smartphone.

I will buy if the display can showing 3D picture without a glass & have new battery technology with huge capacity, maybe approx 20000mAh.

2K display, 4K display, or 100K display in a smartphone
is just a bulls**t for me.

There is no way you could match with iOS or Android in the near future. There isn't any competing eco-system there. Creating your own takes lots and lots of effort and by which time, technology may move on! A dominant Symbian OS, Windows CE, Blackberry OS could not survive this onslaught! For OEM Android is the only option, Many have tried and failed so far, we can quote examples such as Sailfish, Tizen, Ubuntu - few examples.

Only way some one could beat iOS or Android is coming up with a totally different technology that solves our Smart Phone Use Cases totally in a cool manner along with a well defined and thought through eco-system!

LG G4 is pretty much as good as smart phones can get! If people aren't interested in that phone and would rather still have an iphone, then we are screwed as a people because soon in the future there will be like 2 mobile phone makers...

I think the reason Android smartphone manufacturers are battling is not just because of market saturation or smaller manufacturers raising competition. I think it is the unreliable way the update issue is on Android. As much as Google is allowing open use of Android, there needs to be some enforced rules about how updates are carried out.

They should enforce it just like they enforce the pre-installation of Google Apps on all phones that have been certified. This would enforce loyalty from the customer. We now had no confidence that the next device you buy will be supported by its manufacturer. That makes people to always look elsewhere.

At the moment it is not just LG that is feeling the pinch, their neighbor Samsung has been on the slide down since last year, the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge has not helped while at the same time they (Samsung) have shown even worse device support for their current flagships. Of cause HTC has been in trouble for years now and Sony keeps making facelifts on the same phone and releasing it twice a year.
