Husker, 18 Dec 2009How is this a lousy product from an "American" phone company? What exactly is wrong with it... moreI didn't even know the I ? music brand makes "phones" period! Most of its phones, especially the bar design ones, capture so much background noise to the point the person's conversation can hardly be heard.

My friend is using Moto U9 and once he called me at a carnival....I thought he was at home until I asked him.

Husker, 18 Dec 2009How is this a lousy product from an "American" phone company? What exactly is wrong with it... moreWhy do Republicans always assume people WISH to live there? I love both my Motorolas, don't "WISH" to live in the States, and hey, we get so many immigrants in Europe that you're hardly the only one allowed to complain. Stick to cell phone talk.

I appreciate the idea that MOTO's trying to make a breakthrough on the design... but maybe if the specs were better and if the thickness of this phone is a little slimmer and if there are cameras for both the keyboard and the screan side, It would have been better, with this kind of phone, you'll have to keep it inside a sleeve or a pouch so the screen and keys are protected since it's a flip phone on reverse...

Are you more of an SE fan that rehashes all of it devices, & can't even put auto-focus in a mid range device, & over price their phones so bad it's ridiculous? Or they have build problems like keypads that break in W580, or the stylus port on the X1 breaks, or the SW bugs in the K850, Satio, & Aino...just to name a few.

Or how about Nokia, whose phones are always made of cheap a$$ plastic, & as of late are big thick bricks.

It sounds like you have a problem with the U.S. as well. You WISH you could live here.

After a long time , Motorola has decided to come back to the phone industry ! And she did it the easy way .... With MOTOstyle ... I personaly love this phone ... but it's for really open minded persons , like me ... common users would ... what else ... say something bad and look for an other phone ... Please be supportive to Moto and the effort for a dinamic and stylish comeback and stop judging before searching ... deeper ...!!!...

Oddly, I think this phone looks fine, my complaint isn't with its form factor but the cpu, I mean using the old 528mhz cpu is the major fail, toss a snapdragon into it, even one underclocked like the Acer Liquid would have been a win.

Call the five band radio Omni-3G. As for the Moto Backflip, at least their marketing people were on the ball - picking a silly name for a silly device.

speaking from britain can only think this phone is solely for australian market lol. it is unique, but looks bulky too bulky and complicated. can join betamax and 3do games systems i feel, good idea at the time but short lived.

The keyboard actually looks very good and comfortable too use, but what's up with the design of the phone? Kinda ridiculous.

I want to know if there is place to keep stuff inside the phone when it is closed. There's nothing there for sure. Have they made it hollow? Probably it'll be done in Motorola Backflip 2 and women can use it as a purse.
But it'll sure be funny to see a lady talking on her purse.

GSMArena wanted to know a global name, how about MotoPurse...

Well done moto. this form factor was my dream. the next step is a backflip with flip capability, why not slide capability too?

Actually if you really think about the logic behind the design, it makes perfect sense. Just because it doesn't conform to the usual designs that other companies make doesn't mean that it is a bad design. People have only commented that the design is poor, but when you look at the reason behind why it is done that way, those people's comments are unfounded drivel.

It's a bold design statement, and while I personally think that it is a bit strange, I commend Motorola for bucking the trend and creating something new and different.

Well aside from everyones opinions about form versus function on said device.......the real influence of this release will be the introduction of the android OS to ATT.It also makes sense to introduce a mid to low end device like this so that a larger group of people will have an opportunity to try the new OS.I expect to see a high end Android device to follow shortly.

I am sorry my friend, but that's how the device will be relased. I am agree it's a crapy design too.
