TheNeighbor, 04 Aug 2015Kaboom! It's even worse than I was expecting! 3000mAh battery, and it being sealed is as bad a... moreNot changeable battery, we called it removable battery. I don't need it. I use powerbank and it can last me a whole week. Even better, my powerbank is a solar powerbank so, it constantly recharge itself when I leave it by the window or outdoor or when driving in the car I place it on the front of the car to recharge. Battery deterioration? So what? Nobody going to use their phone for over 2 years. In majority of the comment I had read here are people who constantly change their phone every year. Even Samsung knows that, their customer kept changing phone every 2 years or less.
AnonD-139514, 05 Aug 2015I don't know y Samsung is pushing customers away...they were customer friendly that's y we bro... moreNot sure what your problem was, i have had my Note 4 on Lollipop for a few months and there is no lag and it hasn't crashed once.
I have the Note 3 and all that I needed from Sammy to buy outright was to keep all of the major features and add front speakers, a bigger battery and upgrade the camera. Since you're so found of taking from me, I'm going to take my money to motorola and get the the Moto X Pure.
no sd card slote for note5 good by to samsung ,
sam mobile has the right to adjust their features ,
the buyers also have the right to say good buy to sam mobile
If the rumurs are true about no sd card slot good by to sam mobile .
I don't know y Samsung is pushing customers away...they were customer friendly that's y we brought Samsung phones even thou they lagged like hell... I have used all note series and s series..is using lumia 1020 as main phone and note 4 dual sim as 2nd phone...but was fed up with note 4 lag and app crashes after android 5 lollipop. was looking for a replacement..was thinking of waiting for s6 edge +...but when I heard it will lack mmc card slot..i was hugely disappointed. so few days ago I went and brought LG G4 DUAL SIM...wow wat a phone...great screen amazing specs..very good size even after having 5.5 screen...I got freebies worth 12k extra battery with its charger...free extra back cover and free screen replacement work 6.5k....and it has the best camera in an android phone.
now Samsung should learn from lg...replacement back cover mmc card support upto 2 tb,,well 128 gb is enough... I can keep my phone new and colorful by replacing back cover..and the leather is wow..great to grip and hold...soo Samsung iam skiping yr note 5
SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 5- trying to copy iphone 6 plus ..but very good specs - proposed price still high - s6 sales did not rocket -
1- fixed battery - 4100-still shall run out midstream -so need to carry spare battery charger unit - 2- no sd card - use dropbox or google drive cloud storage ..3- use samsung account to back up to free handset internal storage - buy 128gb models ..for family videos storage ..NOTE 4 - now costeffective price drop-samsung n handsets makers must never forget -
A- CUSTOMER is always right B-PRICE must be delight ..cheers..
The new touchwiz icons are borrowed from Samsung Tizen phone. Good thing they decided to throw away the old touchwiz. This smartphone is a complete toned down from Note 4. Im okay with it. No more over saturated with features type of phone with useless bloatware. 3000mah battery with less hardware straining the battery is reasonable. Completely "toned down". Less practical usage but a much more powerful phone.

A removable... moreMy Note 8 can give me an idea of the horrors of a fixed battery high end phone - having to plug it in 2 to 3 times within the day to make sure the power is topped to at least 80%. Imagine the power going down much faster in 6 months - forcing you to totally plug in more times. A lot don't see this problem, and they think carrying power banks are so cool. It's inefficient.
I can see myself getting the Note 4 instead of the Note 5. Another thing about a removable back is the option to get a Zerolemon 10,000mAh battery DIRECTLY powering the device, not some battery jacket that continuously charges and waste energy.
If i were the Project manager of Samsung Note 5 , I would make few changes such as; 20 mpx with optical image stabilization on both front and back camera, expandable storage upto 164 gb, 4 gb ram, 64 gb of Internal memory, and offering a high defination audio like Beats Audio wuth it. And then put a price like 500 Euro. This is how you kick Ass your other competitors atleast for next 5 months.
TheNeighbor, 05 Aug 2015Yeah, "provide up to 20 percent higher speeds and 35 percent less power consumption"... moreThat's the problem isn't it. All batteries gradually lose capacity with heavy use. A removable battery means its $20 to get a new one and your good to go.
I only use the removable battery 5-10 times a year as i'm at a desk 90% of the time. However, when i need it (on holidays, mountain biking, a long flight, hiking, camping etc) there is nothing that beats it (including power banks).
AnonD-418132, 05 Aug 2015Samsung may still have some tricks on it sleeve. What I'm saying is, the 3000mAh still can bea... moreYeah, "provide up to 20 percent higher speeds and 35 percent less power consumption"... They're just removing so much features for the Note 5. Even this
provide up to "35 percent less power consumption" is a little consolation to what should be a way better versatile and powerhouse device.
But imagine that with a changeable battery system. All you're getting from that sealed battery is a .8mm thinner device. If rather have an 8.3mm thick device that has a revocable battery, than a 7.5mm one with a sealed battery that eventually becomes inefficient in 6 to 8 months.
Before The Note Series Is For Pro Users .. But Now By What They Are Doing. . I Will Call It : For Kids Users.
I agree, no C port is a deal breaker, it's already practically outdated. Other than that the phone is beautiful, but I can't see spending that kind of money with an ancient slow port.
Can anyone tell if the glassback folds into the frame or is it flush on the side.
From the top of the phone it appears flush but the sides look as to fold in with a slight lip.
Reading all these comment make me wonder how old you guys are. Samsung just want to revolutionize the smartphone market. Seriously speaking, how long do you think sd card technology going to last? 20 years? 50 years? Its time to move on. Battery capacity race is similar to camera megapixel race. It is meaningless. Bigger not always better. Get yourself together people and accept that the world is moving forward and you have missed the train.
