As a heavy user, I've had to charge my Note 4 at midday from the first day of use. There is absolutely no way I would want the Note 5. I'm sad to say this will affect my decision on whether to get the Samsung Gear A smart watch since I'm unsure if the Note 6 will have a removable battery, necessitating a move to a different brand. Hopefully, the Note 6 will go back to its roots. Ugh.
samsung is hopeless
for me if the note 5 dont have micro sd slot and a battery over 4000 i will switch to huawei ascend mate 8 i have the mate 7 and is great along with galaxy s6 an 6+. so if you dont give me what i need sorry samsung.. i will switch
Samsung may still have some tricks on it sleeve. What I'm saying is, the 3000mAh still can beat the endurance of a 3220mAh on the Galaxy Note 4. The fast charging or wireless charging is just it's another features but the real star is the 14nm FinFET's energy efficient.
If its only a 3000mah sealed battery then i will certainly be staying with my Note 4. Sure you get a better looking device with more grunt & slightly better camera but you sacrifice a micro sd card, removable battery & grippy back... I will be skipping the Note 5 after owning the previous 4 notes... hopefully poor sales mean a backflip for the Note 6. :-(
Antymalware, 04 Aug 2015General bad user experience! Poor customer service! Very short OS update cycle (usually 1-1.5 ... morejust go buy iphone, we dont need u here
*happy users of note2/3/4 and s5
no removable battery = no buy
no type C? noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
3000mAh sealed battery - this is what you get when Samsung is trying hard to be as illogical as Apple and attract the "don't-know-don't-care" crowd. This was so they can say they've shaved off .8mm from the Note 4. It's a shame, really. The materialistic complainers wanted "premium" back, and now they got it.
Here is the direction of Samsung trying to please the iPhone fans - "we made our product limited in memory storage and battery as the iPhone".
Looks the Note 4 is still the best.
eheh, 04 Aug 201514hrs of heavy usage?? liar!! how heavy is your heavy usage??? a lot of people are complaining... moreDisable apps that doesn't use, close the syncs apps in case if you're not using it close games notification. There's too many staff you can improve the battery life a lot including root.
Kaboom! It's even worse than I was expecting! 3000mAh battery, and it being sealed is as bad as no micro SD card slot!
I can't survive with this. Fast charging, carrying power banks, and wireless charging are consolation excuses to keep your sealed battery power for the heavier use - they contribute MORE heat while charging, thereby making the battery die faster. Changing and cycling batteries is what I do to keep up its capacity to hold bigger charge in the coming months - I do like the fact it's holding above 90% of power EFFICIENCY. Something the "don't-know-don't-care" crowd wouldn't even consider. I cycle 3 batteries, and when it's time to hand off my current device to my wife, I'd get her new batteries so I know she had the BEST performance for electrical power needs.
Don't get me wrong, power bank fans - I love them. In fact I have 3 of them, the latest being an original Xiaomi 16000mAh, while an older 10400mAh. I use them for my Note 8 tablet, and to charge my spent batteries with the separate desktop battery cradle charger inside my bag. It's more efficient and you don't have to leave your Note anywhere to charge for a long time - more chances for theft. But hey, I can just carry a spare battery for the day, and that is the only extra thing I carry for my device.
My Galaxy Note stays in my pocket and gets actual WIRELESS use, my spent battery charging elsewhere. Again, the batteries need to be taken out and be replaced with a fresh one to slow down deterioration. Too much work, you say? What's 80 seconds to change it? Would you rather wait 1 to 2 hours while it charges from a wall outlet?
Bottom line is, a sealed battery means charging your device directly half way during the day if you're like me who constantly connects to the internet, and you get less and less battery power hold in the coming weeks. It's a slow deterioration. You'll be just happy with how good the battery is at first, but after that, to wonder why you need charging after lunch time. Bring back the changeable battery, Samsung.
AnonD-422854, 04 Aug 2015I have heard of people complaining lag after usage. Is it true only for S6 or Samsung? No. It... moreI work in a samsung store and i had a s6 and many of my colleagues have s6 and s6 edge and complain battery life is rubbish, phones overheat and use too much ram. Alot of the time my s6 was using 88-92% ram and I had all the apps that came on the phone and only added whats app thats it!! I really liked samsung but I dont like what they have become the s6 opened mine and my colleagues eyes about samsung, they are turning into apple of the android world! Also the amount of customers that come in on a daily basis with problems with the s6 and s6 edge, especially s6 edge makes me feel so ashamed that i am selling these phones to people. People buy a phone on a 2 year contract then couple days later their screens are not working and have to get a replacement phone or phone keeps overheating, or they drop their phone and the screen cracks coz fo fragile glass. I could go on and on, right now imo the note 4 is samsungs best phone. Their s line are a total let down and alot of customers are complaining and it seems to note line is now joining that. so sad.
samsung is going into basically same mistake the nokia fall let me explain
nokia has great success over the years because their phone design is outstanding and they are innovative but as time passes they cannot upgrade symbian to touchscreen phones enough or give customer good satisfaction
but nokia's biggest mistake is N9
they make great mistake when they not continue the great meego os and decide to go after windows phone
then comes the android and samsung train to our stations
samsung is very customer oriented at first they have removable battery fm radio micro sd slot and so on
when they introduce galaxy s3 (which is in my opinion is not good looking phone) they sell in record number but after that comes galaxy s4 which is much better looking has very good specs but it didnt gives the satisfaction of the s3 why ?
because it start to lack some part = fm radio
most of the people say "oh what are you gonna do the fm radio it is so outdated you can listen online radio bla bla"
firstly online radio uses immense amount of battery power compared to fm radio especially when you use carrier data (3g or lte)
secondly online radio uses data and many people especially in 2nd and 3rd world countries dont have much data avalible from their carriers
(people claim that fm radio is outdated and online radio is much better forgetting something that not all the countries have great 3g or lte signal all over country and some people may be poor to use carrier data continously)
then samsung start to remove micro sd slot and fix the battery with galaxy s6
i didnt go into detail about cloud storage better argument it is basically the same with online radio even worse in both cases (data and battery power usage)
then they start to reduce the battery power with note 5 i mean come on samsung 3000 mah seriously
i have used all note phones and currently using note 4 and i got all of them still and even note 2 has 3100 mah battery
when you fix the battery inside the phone you dont have to put many parts and you can make the battery bigger (i.e lg g2)
some poeple will say "you got the fast charging bla bla" i dont care
note 4 has fast charging but according to 8 and half month of usage i can cleary say when you fast charge phone the battery drain quickly as well so there is no point
and when your battery is small it is better to be removable so you can carry spare battery for emergency situations like me
i got 2 anker battery (3220 mah each) and charger, 2 note 4 original battery with charger, zerolemon 10000 mah battery and stadart battery the phone came with so basically i have got more than 7 times the stadart battery capacity with me and takes no time to charge it (i.e live near the power outlet)
and people will also say "you can have power bank bla bla" yes i have those as well but be able to carry spare battery and change it in 10 seconds and continue without cables is much more comfortable and better than chained to brick powerbank with you which i assume at least 7000 mah to give note 5 decent 2 cycle charge
Anonymous, 04 Aug 2015"almost" zero lag? thats comforting espacially when you think its a new phone! wait ... moreI have heard of people complaining lag after usage. Is it true only for S6 or Samsung? No. It's true for ALL storage devices. You might have done/seen people doing Partitioning/Indexing Hard drives after prolonged usage. Your phone needs care too.Keep junks off, keep cleaning RAM and deleting unnecessary files, reboot your phone once a week to clear memory and it will be fine. Please do and experience.
Flashing doesn't mean rooting always. You don't trip Knox or lose your warranty by flashing Samsung firmware. If a firmware will release for G925I in Australia, it will work for India G925I too mostly. So if one can't wait, they can get that and flash it.
AnonD-120291, 04 Aug 20153000mAh battery on a note phone, meh wtf..... i mean if thats the case i will not be upgrading... moreIm thinking about LG G4. I has a nice camera, removable battery and SD card slot. And is made of durable plastic rather than glass... i've seen enough of cracked iphone 4's.
Rgconcept2321, 04 Aug 2015I hope you're right. I definitely won't get it if it only has a 3000mah batteryThey reduced the size of the battery on the s6 so I wouldn't put this past them but seriously if it is a 3000mah battery. I will skip the note 3 neo aka note 5.
AnonD-422854, 04 Aug 2015User experience is subjective to the 'user'. My experience has been great.
Customer Service:B... more"almost" zero lag? thats comforting espacially when you think its a new phone! wait untill your phone turns 6 months or so!
You do realize that when you root your S6 you will void Knox and you can say bye bye to stuff like Samsung Pay etc?

AnonD-29831, 04 Aug 2015Well, very simple. If you're an always on kind of user then you are partially correct. Cloud s... moreWell yes, I agree with what u said. But I don't think that's a deal breaker compared to what Note brings on table and now with that upgraded deaign. SD cards slow your device and aren't Virus free is a fact. Don't be always ON or if one doesn't want then it's OK not to pay every year. (Do u have to pay for Google Drive too? Didn't know that !! ). Base version is being increased to 64GB.even if it's 32 GB then it doesn't take hours to move files to PC which arent much needed, once a week. That would also keep phone junk free and smoother.
Well Sammy made my choice easier. Without the removable battery and SD card slot ill go for Note 4 or LG G4... whichever got the best camera.
