To people complaining about the design: How often do you want these companies to reinvent the square (rectangle)? Sony found a design that works well, and has been refining it little by little.

Speaker grills remains same like Z2, Z4/Z3+ I guess the back glass panel will be the same as Z1 Z2 Z3 Z4 like ages. Where are the Sony designers gone? Are they fired?

These look pretty good to me. The smaller one seems thicker, but I bet it has great batter life like the other Compacts did. Hoping they come out with a real successor to the Z Ultra...

there is some class to sony's squarish monolithic design(gonna miss that nice circular power button though)..atleast it doesnt look like an iphone ripoff....i wish sony would go for gorilla glass or saphire instead of their stupid shatterproof glass(technical term..apparently it means that when the screen breaks it wont shatter..actual words from sony's reply mail for my cracked z1)..using a zenfone 2 now...still missing the z1 camera and walkman

I like thick phones. That could mean bigger battery. Also great fingerprint! I think saygus phone got such from side. Also other buttons - right where you hold phone naturally.

Does that mean no SD820?
I hope they use Helio x20 in that case. Its the only alternative I can think of that is better than SD810.

If they'd make the Compact a FHD with Snapdragon 810, 21mp snapper, dust and water-resistant plus a 3-day battery life... I'm sold!

Very square, boring, poor OS, but very capable handsets, it's a shame that Sony took this route.
A better design would make this an absolute beast of a device, have owned the z1, z3. and z1 compact before but wouldn't buy again.
First thing i do is remove that bloody OS, cyanogen mod on the Z series is superb, only problem is you lose that fantastic camera :(

Looks okay, but quiet thick. It wouldn't bother me if I wouldn't put a case on all of my phones to protect them. Hopefully it'll still be very comfortable in the hand.
